Sounds like you’re in denial… this is a clear desperation signing for Francis.

The UFC has blacklisted him

Boxing doesn’t even take him seriously

OneFC doesn’t want him

Bellator is in the weeds

PFL probably got him on the cheap… a one legged brawler looking for a couple paydays on the back end of his prime
I'd rather wait and see the facts before coming to a biased pre fabricated conclusion like a hater lol jus saying. Anything that pays him better and treats him with respect is better than the ufc and any logical fight fan that respects the fighters knows that. Fighters > brand loyalty.

Ngannou will be fine, Sherdog’s obsession with his finances is a bit weird. Likely he signs a boxing deal, makes 30 million for 1 fight which is more than he would have made in 5 fights for the UFC.

30 mil? That’s like Mayweather money. Ngannou isn’t pulling that. Hell, Tyson Fury doesn’t pull that. He’s gonna have to fight soon to be considered relevant. The longer he sits out while other fighters keep fighting, the more his stock falls. I feel like he’d be lucky to get a fight with Ruiz for $1mil. But yeah, it’s not looking good for him. I think he ends up fighting in the minors for much less than he wanted.

Francis should be constantly referring to himself as the lineal UFC champion the way Fury did when he came back from his first retirement. that's his major problem he has shit promotion. even cringy ass Colby is able to stay relevant with his amateur skits he puts out.
You are right. That is Francis’ biggest selling point. He needs to refer to himself as the Champ, and call the others pretenders to the throne. Exactly like Fury did. But Francis rarely talks like that. If Francis spit sound bites like Tyson Fury or Mike Tyson, he would be okay. He might still be okay, but it would help his cause.

To sign any deal with any organisation at any price he want

This guy is so delusional

Remember when Fury said he want to do a boxing match with Ngannou, i think he just throw that randomly at a time when ngannou was hype and Ngannou believed it

How a guy who grew up in one of the poorest area in the world working in a sand mine as a kid can be so freaking picky about money after being rich already putting against him all the fighting organization in the world

Nobody want or can sign him now, he is completely disconnected from our world

Discuss

He got greedy

Off topic a bit, but didn't PFL reportedly give Jake Paul some corporate title? Maybe this is where the idea comes from? Maybe if Francis ends up with PFL, he's got some sort of similar offer.

Somebody made Mo Lawal a King.

I see Francis apologists still twisting like worms trying to justify his career suicide.

<{anton}>

and yeah the UFC pays me for making these posts lmao

Shut up. I discuss when I want.

I always wonder what goes through peoples' heads when they tack "discuss" to the end of their posts. Are they really so clueless that they think people won't talk about the topic unless they're ordered to?

As a lot of people correctly predicted, Francis greatly overplayed his hand on this. He deluded himself into thinking, some massive boxing payday was out there for him. That appears to have completely dried up. Tyson, and other boxers Don’t seem to be calling him out anymore. I think part of the appeal was him being the UFC heavyweight champion and that’s gone. Now he can’t close a deal with another fighting promotion that is claiming they’re willing to pay him $20 million. His head is in the clouds.
That number's gotta be One acting like they were willing to drop 20 million on him, very hard to believe, ditto hat PFL will offer him anything in the region of that amount of money.

This thread is a perfect example of the fallacy that many sports fans believe about the athletes competing for our benefit as opposed to their own.

I seriously think he's working on a deal that would make him turn down ONE's alleged "20m guaranteed" deal. I don't claim to know what this deal is (and I don't care that much) but I DO think it's where the money is for him. I was simply responding to that retort and pointing out the obvious. If he was worried about money as much as Sherdog is, he'd have taken that "20m guaranteed" deal.

While SD ups the drama level of their obsession with his finances, he's clearly not nearly as worried and desperate as they are. There are tons of excited and dramatic posts about his life, chances, and pay on SD every day while he stays smiling and fairly silent as he takes his meetings and works on his deal. It's humorous.

It's like a man calmly walking through a run down room as all the cockroaches scatter around. Sherdog, baby!

And I was pointing out to OP, who was saying Francis will be poor, that OP was likely poorer than Francis and would likely always be that way. And that he should remember to carry the 5. Always remember to carry the damned 5. Maths 101.
Oh I don't necessarily think he's worried about money short of him trying to emulate the McGregor lifestyle but I seriously doubt One or PFL will offer him in the region of 20+ million without it being for at least double digit fights and brand work for the company when he retires. Of course it will be in their and Franks' interest to insist they have offered a sum far greater than what the UFC offered but given he and his team are on record saying win or lose he would have got 8 mill alone for the Jones fight surely you'd have to be skeptical. Whilst other organizations do typically overpay for UFC talent that's a ridiculous amount for a guy who is nigh on 37, coming off an injury layoff that is fast approaching 1.5 years and has never proven to be a PPV draw.

Nope. He was offered 8 mil for the JBJ fight, and just that fight.
I have seen figures of 2 and 4 mil floating around for the other 2 fights .
But I have not seen anything verified.
Were those 2-4 million figures predicated on him losing to Jones, or was that regardless of if he won or lost would his pay drop off that dramatically? Surely with a win the ensuing fight on a his offer wouldn't have dropped by 50 percent minimum from his previous fight.

I doubt any boxing promoter will be offering any significant money to promote a boxing match vs a pfl fighter or pfl champion. Francis fumbled the bag big time.

Good news for Francis, if true!

If he stayed with UFC, and got no boxing, he would also be fumbling that boxing bag big time.

So, in any case, no matter what he did, he would have fumbled the boxing bag big time.

So that's apples to apples and no change from when he was with the UFC.

So what HAS changed? If this is true, then the org has def changed. What else? The pay?

Right. So getting MORE pay is fumbling his bag??

SD is so fascinating:

1 - he should stay with UFC - he'll never get to box
2 - ok, he left UFC - but he'll never get to box
3 - he'll never get signed by anyone and will be poor and homeless - UFC was his best offer
4 - he has a new deal for more money than the UFC offered?? Woooooow..... he fucked up BIGTIME - now he's got all this useless "extra money" - but he'll never get to box - what a failure!

Circular thinking and hilarious logic.

If this is true, and if it's for more than the $12m ($8m + $2m + $2m) he would have made for his next 3 UFC fights, Sherdog will have a hate-meltdown. So many here are SO invested in the idea of his failure, it's like a need. Like they need him to fail.

I swear some Sherbros will lose sleep if Francis builds his own success. Some will hate on him forever because he left their precious UFC and got more money with PFL. If he fails to secure a big boxing fight, they will somehow blame his not boxing on this move. Call me nostradamous, or just someone who's posted on SD long enough to see how broken y'all minds and spirits are, lol. Never change, Sherdog!

I mean I think we all want best for big Frank, i dont wanna see him loose money,or end up broke..... but the decisions he is making are strange, we the fans/sherdog are simply frustrating.
We could watch Frank fight jon, pav, tom , but no, lets have this stupid shit role out.

What do you think is the best for Ngannou? Then ask yourself what does Ngannou think is best for Ngannou. Are they the same?

STILL, so many sherdoggers...

This. The narrative changes, the goalposts move, the can gets kicked down the road.

A man who was not allowed to box goes and gets more money. Fans start to blame his lack of boxing on going and getting more money, even though he was not allowed to box when he got less money either. And then they laugh at him and critique him for the ludicrous act of getting more money.

Meanwhile he's x amount of times richer than all of them. A wise man would laugh at this. Then scratch his head. Then laugh again.

That depends on where he is now financially if the risk is worth it. Looking back now it feels pretty bizarre though, but then again we’ve seen stranger things.

What do you think is the best for Ngannou? Then ask yourself what does Ngannou think is best for Ngannou. Are they the same?
Keep it up, man. At some point SOME of these emotional creatures will be able to think rationally and strategically.

They confuse chasing boxing opportunities with earning more MMA pay
They confuse their personal desire to watch him fight in the UFC with his "success" - for some, he will only have succeeded if they get to watch him fight in the UFC!
They confuse their emotional desires that would make Francis poorer with "smart business moves"

Yet, not ONE of them can propose a clear path to more riches than Francis' path of leaving the UFC to sign for more money.

It beggars belief while boggling the brain.
