It sounds like he was just trying to pay for pussy. Not worthy of a sentence by any means. Prostitution should be legal. It would help cut down on the abuse and the underage girls and all that. They're using that sex trafficking buzzword but this is just prostitution.

This also isn't legally comparable to the Matt Gaetz case because Gaetz broke the letter of the law with regards to sex trafficking and sex trafficking of a minor. Nor is it comparable to a child porn case. Let's try to use our heads here. This just seems like some tit-for-tat where some Republicans got in trouble for far more serious offenses so you found a Democrat who simply solicited prostitution from an adult.

He's not being charged with sex trafficking, sex trafficking of a minor or child porn. This is a nothing burger. He'll probably just be forced to go to "john school" where they lecture men about the evils of prostitution to "scare them straight".

Child porn and sex trafficking are not the same thing.

This guy is accused of solicting prostitutes / escorts. That is a far cry from sex trafficking and child porn. The news articles saying he was cited for sex trafficking are sensationalizing.

The government planted escort adds online and then cited the men who respoded.

In a press release, the Portland Police Bureau said its Human Trafficking Unit planted ads on websites in April to attract people who would pay for sex. Hunt’s involvement was first reported by the Portland Tribune, which matched Hunt’s name, address and age with one of the men cited.

Eight men were cited for commercial sexual solicitation, according to the bureau. The men were arrested individually when they arrived at the location agreed upon online.
