Ravens
I should have said......what road team......the Ravens are actually favored or they were.
Ravens
Did this really happen or BS?
Georgia Tech 222 Cumberland 0
Back in the 40's an all bkack HS in Tennessee was undefeated for three seasons, they also were unscored on and..................nobody ever crossed the 50 yard line on them.
Darrell Green who won numerous NFL Fastest Man titles, wasn't as dominate one season in an NCAA 100m coming in 6th and losing to two future NFLers Willie Gault and his Tenn teammate Mike Miller.
Green did run a world class 10.08 but was more of a 10.2ish cat.
When the AFL merged with the NFL, the Colts, Steelers and Browns became AFC teams.
A couple way back when NFL teams were.....Kansas City Cowboys and the Tonawanda Kardex.
Hall of Fame fullback Bronko Nagurski was also an NWA pro rasslin' World Champion.
The New York Giants drafted the 1964 Olympic 200m gold medalist Henry Carr, why.......to run with the Cowboys 1964 Olympic 100m champ Bullet Bob Hayes a wide receiver (converted running back)
Speaking of the New York Giants they had a wide receiver named Homer Jones (beat Hayes in an NAIA 200m) who was the daddy of....The Spike, yep, first player to spike a football after a score. He was also the first player to run a kickoff back to score on MNF. He was now a Brown.
It was the Cali State Track&Field Championships and the Boys 100 Yard Dash, talking 20's. Frank Lombardi jumped the gun, back then you were moved back a yard (dead serious) that must have pissed him off because at the gun he exploded out of the blocks blowing by everyone (future Olympian and WR holder Frank Wykoff one of them) he stopped the watchs at 9.6 tying the then world record. A HS kid running a WR was simply unheard of. After that meet Frank Lombardi.....poof~~~~~
You are talking about a LOT of different things in that post btw
You should check out my piano thread at teh jukeboxYep, Football & .....STUFF.
I'm a bit of a football, track, rasslin' history buff, am talking the books, magazines, and have seen a lot, been to track meets from Oregon to Mexico. I guess.......hobby....would work.
Non sports interests, music, literature, silent movies, yep, into the history of it all. Have this thing about......origins.
