Getting back to my Thunder & Lightning duos...

Jim Brown was a fullback when he first started out with the Browns , he had a speedy running back beside him, talking Bobby Mitchell, he was a fomer Big 10 (Illinois) 100 and hurdles champion, had the label.....fastest man in football. Imagine that, Big Jim Brown in the same backfield with the fastest man in football, whoa! Both averaging over 5 yards a carry. That went on for 4 seasons then Coach Paul Brown decided he wanted Ernie Davis the Heisman winner out of Syracuse......why??? So he traded Mitchell to the Redskins for the rights to draft Davis, as we now know Davis died he had Lukemia.

So Mitchell becomes a future Hall of Fame WR with the Skins. Seems like the trade should have been voided, guess not,

Guess the classic Thunder & Lighting would have to be big powerful Larry Csionka with the speedy elusive Mercury Morris, the Csonk and Mercury, yep.....perfect.

Who can give me 25 pro rasslers who showed up in a movie?

How about 15 pro footballers in the movies?

Really impressed with that Penn State TE, I can see why he's won the awards he has. He should have been used more last night.

How about this for a top 10 TE list, talking NFL success.

1.Tony Gonzalez Cal/Chiefs
2.Antonio Gates Kent State/Chargers
3.Travis Kelce Cincinnati/Chiefs
4.Jason Witten Tenn/Cowboys
5.GRONK Arizona/Pats
6.Shannon Sharpe Savannah State/Broncos
7.Ozzie Newsome Alabama/Browns
8.John Mackey Syracuse/Colts
9.Mike Ditka Pitt/Bears
10.Kellon Winslow Missouri/Chargers

Would you believe the Chiefs once had a 6-10 TE, talking Morris Stroud.

The first decade of the career of Russell Wilson his numbers were on par wth anyone ever, he is 13th all time in TD passes top five all time in QB rushing, TD/INT ratio, passer rating, he is the only member of that over 5000 rushing yards and over 45,000 passing yards club. Nine time pro bowler and has more superbowl wins than Hall of Famers Dan Marino, Warren Moon, Jim Kelly, Dan Fouts, John Unitas and Fran Tarkenton ......combined. In 2020 he was voted on by the players as number 2 on their top 100 players list.

But.....the last few seasons his game has begun to show cracks, he's not as decisive as quickty as he used to be so he takes more sacks. He can still throw the ball however.

As we know he's black but like Obama you'd never know it. I do think he simply doesn't fit in, and his teammates can't relate. Do think some are jealous also, he makes all that $$$$$ and is married to.....wow! Then ya add that goofy attitude he has of life is so good with roses and lollipops and ..........sheesh~~~

Will the Steelers do what they can later today to get rid of him, they know a loss and he's gone. Might mean his career actually. he will never be a backup and who would want him starting?

Do hope I'm wrong and the Steelers kick Raven butt and move on with Wilson having a great game. But......just can't see it.

Do think Wilson did enought tonight to keep his job, he looked pretty good actually. But....he can forget that big $$$$$$$$$ he isn't that guy anymore.

I talked about this a decade ago.. talking that mobile QB.

It's third and short, we know Eli Manning, Philip Rivers, Tom Brady, won't be running so that D can forget that aspect of the offense. Not so with Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, I know I know Brady had a ton of success without being mobile, so he'd be that outlier.

Look at the right now, only teams left without a mobile QB, Lions and Rams.

Look at who will b drafted, yep,,,,,mobile QB's.

I was a running back/cornerback in HS football, with a mobile QB you have to keep peaking back to see if he took off, if the guy can't run you are totally on that receiver.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That lethal combo of Derrick Henry/Lamar Jackson have more rushing yards combined than any RB/QB in history. They are unstoppable as a duo. This season Henry moved past a ton of other backs on that all time rushing list and Jackson moved past Vick as far as QB rushing goes, he is now number one and he's young.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I went 3-2 losing with the Chargers (Herbert sucked long and hard) and the Buc's, how could anyone take a rookie QB on the
road? Gotta say it that rookie QB is amazing.

Have the Rams tonight, but don't like it as much as I did now they will be in Arizona.

I live in Cali, down in the central valley so we are safe. What a rerrible situation, do wonder just how much it will effect an LA team.

Was a bit shocked the Chargers played that badly, could the LA fires have been the why? It must be hard to think football in LA right now.

So......getting off the Rams tonight, will simply dump the game. Take my 3-2 record into the next round where I will take all the home teams.

Give me that top 10 list where a running back never had a 1000 yard season?

Hall of Fame RB's.....Paul Hornung, Frank Gifford and Hugh "King" McElhenny never had a 1000 yard season and neither did the great Lenny Moore the first great receiver at RB, would be in the slot today.

The first great Cowboy RB Don Perkins no 1000 yard season for him (Yale long jumper Calvin Hill the first Cowboy 1000 yarder)

Willie "Wisp" Galimore shared carries with Rick Casares with the Bears, Casares did have a 1000 yard season. Classic thunder & lighting there.

Matt Snell the star of SB III never had a 1000 yard season. Neither did his running mate Emerson Boozer.

Way back when the Rams had a dynamic duo in Tank Younger and Deacon Dan Towler both around 225 pounds, obviously sharing carries won't help in having that 1000 yard season. They didn't.

First time I became aware of O.J.Simpson was at a track meet in Fresno, saw his name in the program ........Orenthal James Simpson.....he was then a member of that potent San Francisco City 4x1 team. What I didn't know was he was a stud RB, while at SFCC he gained over 2000 yards scoring over 50 TD's. He had offers from everyone.

While at USC he would come in 6th in that NCAA 100 and also 6th in the 60, he was a legit 9.4 sprinter, pro football had never seen a faster running back. He also ran a leg on a World Record 4x1 team, very rare for a college team ***** to accomplish that.

As we know his Bills career started out slow but once it got going he thrived, the first 2000 yards in a season. Had a Hall of Fame career, to go with his number being retired in HS and winning a Heisman. Great great running back.

I have a book talking about all the great running backs, no mention of O.J. at all. I get the why....BUT....you can't talk great running backs and not include O.J.Simpson.

***** At the 1960 Oympics the USA used that Tennessee State 4x1 team as our ladies team. Yep, won the gold. Anchor leg Wilma Rudolph winning the 100 and 200 golds.

We will see one of two things this NFL weekend

1.All the home teams win

2, We have one upset. If that does happen (do doubt it) I think that will be The Commanders shocking the world......again!

Anyone have a different upset?
