Floyd Mayweather TBE?

there are a lot of green people on this forum. No wonder the sherdog boxing forum gets away with so much, its regulars are funding the place.

What do we get away with here?

zero mods

we don't often get dubs for pointless shit like they do in the other sections

Everytime someone says something like this, mods come in and dub everyone for pointless shit.

Floyd isn't the best ever, but lol at this cans shitposts about heavyweights being #1.

The heavyweights will beat welterweights....So how can a welterweight be the best best ever?....In their day Joe Louis would have beaten Ray Robinson, Muhammad Ali would have beaten Ray Leonard and today Deontay Wilder would beat Floyd Mayweather.

Is he the TBE?
Most would say that's Sugar Ray Robinson. They're from different eras though and modern day guys are going to be hard pressed to equal the careers of guys that fought during an era that had one champion in 8 weight classes while everyone else was eligible to be the #1 contender. Guys like Charley Burley were denied title shots, and some champs lost fixed fights, but for the most part they had stronger resumés back then.

not in my opinion but I don't listen to people who'd say something like this anyways. As far as defense alone, it should tell you something when defensive wizzes of the past still had to fight their asses off and get hurt and hit sometimes. If you can't figure it all out, I have nothing to say. Ali was the best defensive heavy ever and he took big punches at all points in his career, not just when he got old. Pernell Whitaker and Wilfredo Benitez were supernatural in their ability to make a guy miss and they both got hurt or put down in their primes. As for myself, I wish the past his prime DLH didn't even fight the guy and give him the steam off of his fame, he wasn't even a real star before that and DLH lost every big fight after the Trinidad loss.

If you at the equation of money earned vs damage taken he's the GOAT

He's very good. I wasted a lot of money hoping to see him lose back in the day. His hands weren't made for entertaining fights but his brain make good defense

Yes, really. Roy was also the first boxer in CompuBox history to not get hit a single time inside a round. This was the 4th round against Vinny Paz. Not that it really matters. This isn't the NFL or NBA. There is no Defensive Player of the Year (DPOY) award in boxing, homie.

Floyd is significantly higher on any logical list of Defensive GOATs than Roy. I watched the entirety of both careers.

According to the statisticians it’s not close either.

You’re reduced to ‘prime’, im talking career (as is anybody using their brain)

When people entertain hypotheticals they match them prime vs prime. Don't they? It's no different here. At Roy's best he got hit even less than Floyd did at his best. This isn't complicated.
