Conditioning/ Skill Work
Bas Rutten's All Around Fighting
5 three minute rounds w/ one minute rest
Right straight practice. I don't know how many I threw, but I really focused on throwing it right and bringing it straight back.
Same w/ the jab.
Random: I was the entertainment for a guy visiting a roomate, so I explained what I'm training for and how.
Did some Catch Rows, a Sandbag complex, double end bag work, some padwork, a bear complex, suitcase deads, dumbell twists, anvil stuff, etc. All for one or sets, nothing really focused. Just showing him how I train and taking the opportunity to skip out on a game of Balderdash.
Impressions:
Not bad, but I seriously misjudged my nutrition on this one. Round 5 was Hell. I waited too long after eating, and was running completely on empty; so instead of sacrificing too much technique, I opted to end the workout a bit early and get some food. All the other stuff is what followed.
Sprawl clicked tonight. I find that Bas's tapes do that for me. I have to do something so many fucking times, and as long as I'm trying to do each one w/ excellent technique, the move eventually "clicks". Tonight, my sprawl was much, much faster.
