Finnegan's Wake

What weight would you be if you fought at HW and what is your height?

The amatuer show sounds decent!

If I fought tonight, I'd be about 230-235 depending on what ate for dinner. After 50 days of intensive training, that would be more around 220-225. I'm 6'1.

10 lbs for density, 16 lbs for intervals is what I use.

Do you feel ready to fight?

Is your conditioning where you want it? Are your skills where you would like them to be?

Yes.
No.
No.

Anyone who answers yes to last two questions is setting themselves up for failure. My conditioning can always be better and so can my skills.

Edit: Just found out the rules for this one: Full UFC rules. 3 five min. rounds. I feel better about that than if it weren't. I know I can keep up the intensity for that long. My conditioning will be a huge advantage if it goes to three.

WAR FINNEGAN! I'd say good luck, but I don't think you'll need it...

Conditioning:

Sledgehammer Intervals

20 minutes of Tabata Sledgehammering (20 seconds work/ 10 seconds rest for 20 minutes total)

First 10 minutes was the 16lber. Next 5 minutes was the 10 lber. Last 5 minutes was the one handed 12 lber.
I averaged 15-18 swings per 20 seconds work w/ the 16 lber, about 18 per w'/ the 10, and a very nice 19-22 with the one hand 12lber.

Impressions:
Well, that was fun.

Finnegan, I don't know why I seek your approval, but I did something that would make you proud.

I guess it's cause you're like the strong dad I never had who never nurtured me, and just stood there and looked cool, but at the same time, looked nothing like me.

Anyways, rolling today I let a friend slap on a tight triangle, and I just picked him up and stood straight up and said, "If you held on any longer, it would be the last thing you remembered." Before he let go and fell on his ass.

Nice! Seems to me a slam is something you really gotta commit to. If you half ass it, you just helped the other guy sink it deeper. If you Rampage it, well, you earn Sainthood.

Thanks for the support Brad. I'll give it my all when its time (whenever it may be.)

Agreed. No need to slam the shit of someone unless you are on a trampoline, in a pool, or fighting for real.
Hopefully, I'll know tomorrow if I got the new job or not.

Awesome job bro. I actually just purchased a sledgehammer today, 10lb. I'm short one tire at the moment, but being that I live in the lowcounty, 90% of the soil here is sand anyways. I have a big sand pit in my back yard, loose and pliable. It's going to have to sub for my tire, haha.

You better tape your first fight. I keep telling everyone about this zerchering badass.

Speaking of vids, as soon as the fight is confirmed I'm pulling all my sparring vids from Youtube. I don't need my opponents seeing those.
I'll leave all the feats of strength though.

You should film yourself doing curls and calf raises...then again, maybe even that would intimidate him.

Update, Sledge work in the sand = bad idea. 5 Mins of sledge work = hole deep enough to bury my sledge!
