Who is the greatest MMA fighter of all-time?

Kinda silly to shun one guy for PEDs then glaze another who competed where you were allowed to use those same steroids.

To compare guys that had to go through actual drug testing versus none seems unfair to me. Pride guys for the most part were blasting and that obviously made them better fighters and with no restrictions, they were blasting the shit out of gear.
No logic there, cheating is cheating, level playing field. Maybe PEDs gave Jones an edge against DC, and whole history would be different.

So why compare the two again? How is it fair?

Maybe being allowed to do whatever and how many PEDs you want can make someone look better than when they aren't allowed to blast all that stuff, no?

Whats more you look at who Fedor was fighting and it seems much more likely to me that he disadvantaged by that, Randleman, Coleman and Fujita especially.

Even Bones knows the answer to this poll

At least GSP has a good record in the UFC, while Fedor is literally a glorified journeyman who got badly exposed once outside his japanese circus show (imagine losing against a WW grandpa). So obviously GSP is league above Fedor, it's not even comparable.

More importantly, no one cares about a random poll on Sherdog while everybody knows who's the true GOAT in the real world.

This poll could even say Ben Askren is the MMA goat, no one would care because any poll on Sherdog is simply completely irrelevant to the real world.

Whatever you have to tell yourself to sleep at night. Fedor in his prime was always must watch.

I would say if you look at the total package of the individual these two are extremely close. All around great fighters, and great ambassadors for the sport. I choose fedor by a whisker.

If I was to only look at fight prowess only. I unfortunately need to say Jone Jones. He's just too good.

But it doesn't matter what a randomly picked pro thinks. Like at all, it's just an appeal to authority. And if you wanted to go that route everyone knows there are a ton of fighters that have said Fedor is the goat.
It's not a randomly picked pro... If the own fighter who is debated as the GOAT (GSP) says that to him there's no way JJ is not the best of all times... Khabib saying the same as well, but actually, putting Jon Jones and Fedor as tied #1s... The if the own ppl who could be argue to be goat status all say JJ is the goat, I just don't see much ground for it to be otherwise.

His fight vs DC was ruled a no contest. But that's it. That was the only fight that had not a clear winner. The others, were not. Still, JJ defeated everyone else he fought... 29 - 0 with more than 90% being in UFC and 17 title defenses + double champion... There's the doping controversy, but again, the only fight it was a no contest was DC II. Out of that, JJ was the youngest champion ever, defeated his belt 16 times in LHW and 17 times counting his last HW fight.

Ppl can look at different aspects for GOAT, which I respect. But purely in terms of accomplishments, dominance, consistency, breaking records and getting double champion (while no one has been able to be triple champion yet)... It just makes it clear, to me, that JJ is the most dominant fighter of all time and, in terms of dominance as a fighter in his 15 years career in the UFC... Yeah, he's the most dominant and all in all, best fighter to ever fight IMO. I'm not talking as a fan or anything, I'm being totally honest.

Fighters are incorrect all the time even about fighting. It's an opinion. There is no universal correct answer for who the greatest of all time is. It depends on criteria being used.

Fedor lost to Dan Henderson. GSP would have beaten the Dan Henderson Fedor lost too. Fedor is a heavyweight, Henderson was a middleweight and GSP was a welterweight. Jon Jones would have destroyed any version of Dan Henderson. Fedor being in the finals is laughable. Biggest myth in combat sports history

I voted for Fedor but I love how close this one is and how debated it has been. They are my number 1 and 2 picks personally and I have a hard time placing them. Happy for both fighters the 2 goats.

The worst HW Fedor fought would one shot GSP. Come on guys lol. I like GSP but no fighter was ever scared to fight the man . His fights overall pretty boring too. How anyone voted for him over Fedor is beyond me.

Hendo was juiced to the gills though .

Fedor was a destroyer.
GSP was a human sheet,
there's no comparison.
8 - ko/tko
6 - submission
12 - decisions

over half of his wins are finishes and he also didn't get KTFO seven times.

I love Fedor but man those losses really piled up and he never avenged any of them he had his chance with Bader but he got destroyed again.

Fedor was a LHW who fought at HW.

GSP arguably lost to and was retired by (at 32yo) mini-hendo (hendricks). TRT Hendo would have made GSP tap to strikes before the fight started.

Fedor had a siginficant decline in his mid 30's people shouldn't hold that against him as much as they do. Do you know how many great boxers were a shell of themselves before they reached the age Fedor was when he first lost?

Sugar Ray Leonard never won a fight past 33yo, Roy Jones Jr was getting consitently KTFO by inferior fighters from 35yo on, Ali was a shell of himself at 36.
