FBI reopens Clinton investigation as new emails found PART 3

Its just hilarious Comey makes this public and you think 'hes trying to help the Republicans!'

Come the fuck on

He hasn't made anything substantial public at all. In fact it would be hard for him to have been any more vague. Like I said, his actions have a clear political implication and there's no legal reason for him to have informed congress and the public.
If there's something in the emails which is indictable, then he simply could have acted on it.

He's a private citizen.

Why didn't Hillary follow the law? If there was nothing to hide, she could have simply followed the law and NOT compromise national security.

He's running for President.

He stopped being a private citizen over a year ago. It has been a tradition in this country for the Presidential nominee to release their taxes to the public since the 1960s.

Trump is the first and only candidate to disregard this tradition. Even no-tax Romney released his returns.

Why doesn't Trump?

He has made public what he can. If multiple reports of 650,000 emails is factual, what do you want from him? Like I said, if Clinton gets impeached over this, he would've been done for not letting the public know about info they had and the fact they reopened the investigation before the election. Can you take your Shillary glasses off for a second? Do you really think hes doing this to help Republicans, especially after the travesty that was her first investigation?

"Talking points" my arse. I'm not a WSJ subscriber and the video said nothing, what's the content?

Investigators found 650,000 emails on a laptop that they believe was used by former Rep. Anthony Weiner and his estranged wife Huma Abedin, a close Clinton aide, and underlying metadata suggests thousands of those messages could have been sent to or from the private server that Mrs. Clinton used while she was secretary of state, according to people familiar with the matter.

It will take weeks, at a minimum, to determine whether those messages are work-related from the time Ms. Abedin served with Mrs. Clinton at the State Department; how many are duplicates of emails already reviewed by the FBI; and whether they include either classified information or important new evidence in the Clinton email probe.

Officials had to await a court order to begin reviewing the emails—which they received over the weekend, according to a person familiar with the matter—because they were uncovered in an unrelated probe of Mr. Weiner.

Which confirms what I said earlier. They literally don't even know what, if anything, they have. Which is the problem with the announcement. I think at this point, it is safe to say that they will not find anything, but if you are already convinced that Clinton is some kind of criminal, you're certain that evidence for that belief will eventually turn up, and you get a hard-on every time there's something new to look at. Like Charlie Brown and the football. Or Bender:

Bender: Oh, my God! Look! It's Bigfoot!

[Ranger Park holds up a camera and autograph book and runs to the window.]
Ranger Park: Where?

Bender: Eh, he's gone. He said you should keep wasting your life though.

Also goes into detail about internal battles.

New details show that senior law-enforcement officials repeatedly voiced skepticism of the strength of the evidence in a bureau investigation of the Clinton Foundation, sought to condense what was at times a sprawling cross-country effort, and, according to some people familiar with the matter, told agents to limit their pursuit of the case. The probe of the foundation began more than a year ago to determine whether financial crimes or influence peddling occurred related to the charity.

Some investigators grew frustrated, viewing FBI leadership as uninterested in probing the charity, these people said. Others involved disagreed sharply, defending FBI bosses and saying Mr. McCabe in particular was caught between an increasingly acrimonious fight for control between the Justice Department and FBI agents pursuing the Clinton Foundation case.

It isn’t unusual for field agents to favor a more aggressive approach than supervisors and prosecutors think is merited. But the internal debates about the Clinton Foundation show the high stakes when such disagreements occur surrounding someone who is running for president.

Then gets into the McCabe thing, briefly mentions a refutation of it ("FBI officials have said Mr. McCabe had no role in the Clinton email probe until he became deputy director, and by then his wife’s campaign was over."), then this:

In February, FBI officials made a presentation to the Justice Department, according to these people. By all accounts, the meeting didn’t go well.

Some said that is because the FBI didn’t present compelling evidence to justify more aggressive pursuit of the Clinton Foundation, and that the career anticorruption prosecutors in the room simply believed it wasn’t a very strong case. Others said that from the start, the Justice Department officials were stern, icy and dismissive of the case.

And more along those lines. Crazy long piece, actually.

Trump has done some dirty shit too and I'm sure there's plenty hidden that since we still haven't seen his fucking taxes.
Do you think he's hiding things from the IRS?

Or is there something that you'd pick up that they wouldn't?

So then you do want more wars? Why are you worried about Trump then if you want to be involved in more wars?

Standing up something does not necessarily mean going to war with it.

Is Huma just holed up in her NY apt right now or what

Based on his claim that he's under audit, yes it's possible he's hiding something from the IRS.

It's also very possible that he owns lots of money to foreign interests which isn't the best conflict of interest to have as the POTUS.

@panamaican haven't seen you post on this. I know you kind of work in this industry and was wondering what your take is on all this.

My opinion is the same. I respected the FBI when they said there was nothing to prosecute and I respect them now when they say there is something to investigate. All I can do is wait for their conclusion and hope it comes before election day.

I think this highlights that all of the back and forth on their impartiality is the most absurd thing (and underscores the irresponsibility of the ""rigged" rhetoric). When the FBI said HRC was clear, some people said there was bias in her favor...those people are now saying the FBI is no longer biased but nothing about the personnel has changed. Some people said the FBI was impartial before...those people are now claiming the FBI is meddling in politics. I find both groups frustrating for the same type of partisanship.

My only issue is that it's unlikely to be resolved before people go to the polls so I don't know how to weigh it. They've said they don't even know if these are duplicate emails or not. And even if they are new, they don't know if they rise to the level of prosecution. It's a giant ball of vagueness that isn't very helpful.

Lastly, it is consistent with my oft-stated opinion that I should withhold making a conclusion on who to vote for as long as possible because you never know what's going to come out. I was right then and it's more apparent now.

Regardless of whether you think that's his only motivation, saving his own arse is a political move under the circumstances. If there's 650,000 emails but he hasn't found anything indictable, then it's irresponsible to write a letter to congress simply to announce "we've got more emails".
It's hilarious that you think pointing out the obvious makes me a "shill". Big AJ fan?

so much for the 'most qualified candidate' ever....

only in office period due to being married to a President.....

clearly accomplished (what little she did) by any means necessary, likely illegal especially when it comes to National Security concerns

clearly took money for pay/play cronyism

shit is hilarious, if it wasn't still offensive to George HW Bush and the vast majority of former Presidents that were undoubtedly more qualified to run than she is

Is Huma just holed up in her NY apt right now or what
I could see her leaving the country for Saudi Arabia.

Word. There were rumors of her passport getting frozen but not sure if they were credible. Seems like it would be a prudent thing to do (freeze it) at this point.
