I wouldn't count on it, they are always broken at launch. To be fair though there is a lot going on in their games to account for
You do realize that buying the DLC is actually more expensive than just getting the GOTY version? They basically force you to buy the game twice, which is nothing but a big "fuck you" to everyone that supports them by paying full price on release. Skyrim was the last time I made that mistake.ummm what???
Their DLC is always stand alone and never needed to enjoy the game. Also the DLC is to notch and comes way after the initial release. You get more then fair value for that 60 bucks.
Been a fan of theirs since fallout1/daggerfall and I would put the odds of a smooth launch for fallout4 at zero percent.
Its bound to have bugs. It wont be "broken" though. For me Skyrim was a relatively smooth experience upon launch.
Anybody got an idea on where the game is set? I saw the obelisk and immediately thought "what, DC again?", but it seemed too short and there were buildings too close to it so it can't be DC...
Yeah Skyrim was ok for me too. It's been a while but I remember FO3 becoming an issue after the save file became like 15MB. Unfortunately FONV was broken from the beginning. All on PS3.
Bethesda didn't start making Fallout games until Fallout 3. Interplay made Fallout 1 and Black Isle Studios made the second one.

Love their games, but I'll wait.
Didn't Skyrim have a bug for ps3 that would make the game crash when the saves got too big?
And fallout new Vegas had some of the worst load times I ever experienced on a console.
I bet it's November this year. It's been 7 years since Fallout and 4 years since Skyrim. That's plenty of time, they've just done a nice job of keeping it under wraps. They're showing box art ffs.

Yup. But no one is forcing you to buy either. You can play the regular release and never play a single DLC if you didn't want to. It is in ow way a "big fuck you" to people who support their stuff. The DLC comes starts coming out about a year after the release and it takes about a year to release all of them. Then after another year or so of release a GOTY edition with all the DLC and the game patched to the point of it running without problems.
I think you just have a problem with DLC in general which is totally fine. I'm not a big fan of it either but Bethesda does it right.
I played Skyrim on PC, and I ran into a bug in the main quest that wouldn't let me continue the story. The details are a little fuzzy now, but I remember that it was at some part where I had to talk to a guy through a door. He wouldn't let me say something that would prompt the next part of the quest. I ended up going online and finding a way to fix, which I think amounted me to skipping ahead to the next quest segment. I remember though that if the bug had been on a console, there would have been no way around it except to wait for a patch to come out
Sorry for not fact checking it but do pay attention to my daggerfall comment.

Horse Armor. :icon_lol:
Seriously though after that the DLC they cranked out has been decent at worst. Not a fan of how they stagger the release dates for them.
I usually end up buying the base game and then wait for the GOTY version to go on sale when it's the price of one DLC.
And what a fucking mess that was before the first patch..![]()
I honestly have no idea about that. I didn't start with the Fallout franchise until Fallout 3 and Bethesda took over. My 1998 gaming year was entirely consumed Myth II: Soulblighter. Hell I don't think I played any other PC game for years. It was a fun time where when I picked up the phone people were amazed because all they got was a busy tone for days on end. :icon_chee

Lol, jesus, dude. It was an observation based on expectations of some of the next gen titles we've seen. You can relax a bit. Like I've already said, I'm sure the game will be great.
Uggh. Totally forgot about.... Horse Armor..... Yeah that one of if not the worse ever.
Thats also how I but the game. I play it for a ton of time then put it away for a few years and buy the GOTY year edition down the line. Hell I'm just playing through NV DLC right now. Never got around to it and the GOTY was 13 bucks at walmart a few months back.

lol im totally relaxed. Guess Im not coming off that way. All that stuff I posted was first on GAF. You should see the crazy that's happening over there.
** mod can delete link if you want. I don't know why one of you seems to hate links to GAF. **

I think Horse Armor was the progenitor of the whole "DLC is bullshit" movement.
That comparison picture really shows how bad that engine has aged. NV came out in 2012 god damn!
I hope the total package reflects how much color is in the trailer. FO3 and NV were just a pile of muddy colors. NV being a bit more colorful but still pretty bland.
What do you get with the season pass?
