I'm familiar with the Oxford translation with all the footnotes. I'll have to do some more research on the rest of your points. But from what I remember off the top of my head, most of the contradictions are relatively minor, as far as the basic message goes.

I believe I'm still correct on my statement about the bible being the most accurate ancient text that exists today. Which is pretty impressive no matter how you look at it, imo.

As for older texts which have been handed down through the ages am I right in thinking both The Iliad and The Odyssey are older? Again the Koran?

With regards to being accurate, are we talking similar to as when was written or an accurate illustration of life at the time?

I believe the bible, Iliad and Odyssey have been retold and rehashed many times.
