Gravity make be the weakest of the 4 fundamental forces, but:
- It has the longest reach of the four (basically infinite)
- It's the dominant force in shaping the galaxy on the macro scale
and
- Its the least understood
On his podcast, a listener asked Neil D Tyson what Gravity was and how it works. His short answer - No one really knows for certain, they can only explain it's effects and how to predict it. He then went on a technical explanation to attempt to describe how/why they think it works in layman terms and it still hurt my brain trying to understand it.
It's effect on how time passes still blows my mind. Clocks have to be slightly adjusted at the ISS because difference in gravity.
