Eye pokes

that's not what I said

Fair game that he's far from being the greatest in your book due to eye pokes, but it's a fact that he's pretty close to being the greatest in a lot of peoples books, which is why I doubt he cares much about yours, and which is why I doubt eye pokes affects his legacy in any major way. It's not that he's actually winning by eye pokes, and it's not that he's doing it constantly, although you might argue that the threat is constantly there.

I like him because Jon is the dirtiest player in the game Ala Rick Flair. But only in real life.

It hurts his legacy, he is trying this shit every fight and most MMA fans know this. You said that he isn't winning by eye pokes. Yeah, he is mostly winning by TKO or dec. However, they eye pokes are a big factor in his fights that make his opponents think twice about closing the distance. Hate it or love it; it's a dirty move and I don't think that people in the future will say "hey look, that dude's trying to get himself an advantage by breaking the rules, only a GOAT would do this." In fact, a GOAT woulnd't do this, he woulnd't need this.

Don't get me wrong, as a big Fedor fan I agree that looking not-that-great against Fujita hurt his legacy too. As a Penn fan, I have to say that his desire to fight in heavier weight classes instead of cleaning out the LW hurt his legacy (well, atleast to the newer fans). I think it's funny that jones nuthuggers always go nuts when facing the fact that this hurts his legacy. It's even more ridicoulos than those GSP fans saying 25 of no danger are more dominant than a quick beatdown.

Girl, you don't have to agree with me if he's the best or not. But acting as if it doesn't hurt his legacy is laughable.

Well, there's obviously different degrees of hurting, so in some ways I can aggree. And honestly, I - as a fan - would like to see the eye pokes gone. But let's say he continues to fight the same way, and keeps winning, an eye poke here and there, I doubt it's gonna hurt his legacy to a degree that people would dismiss him as the GOAT.

The eye pokes are probably gonna be a footnote.
