Eye poke instant disqualification

I am chilling as I smoked a little bit of weed, so forgive me if I stupid. But I think this would be smart: instant dq with an eye poke.

Eye poking is extremely risky. Who would wants to lose his vision. I will tel you, I dont. You cant have fighters poking each other in the eye.

Secondly, you would have a high number of diaqualifications at the start
But watch it go down as fighters get accustomed to the rule.

It gets tricky though…I can already see fighters faking a near eye poke to get the dq. Doesn’t matter if there’s instant replay showing it was barely contact near the eye it will happen.


I do think something needs to be done. I don’t get why low blows are taken way more seriously than eye pokes. It seems to be the perception is it’s always an accident unless you’re JJ

No. They wouldn't ...or better said. Yes they would, but at same time they would protect orbitals aswell, which is not intended. From top of my head, MacGyver style shit - some glass/clear plexi/ gel capsule which would fill eye socket. Like there are eye lenses, it cannot be that hard to utilize them for protection...

There is nothing which would work other than gloves which greatly prohibit finger extension. One of the coaches already invented said glove but Dana wont pay him as he patented them

I dont agree. There for sure could be protection for eyes which would deformate under punch but protect eyeball against eye pokes. Only question is how comfortable it would be and what could be done to keep 100% vision.

Like even in ice hockey goalies did not want to wear goalie masks/helmets - vision impairment + comfort and first goalies with masks was "clown" for majority of goalies. Same story xx years later with players with visors on helmet - they were getting laughed on, nowdays everyone is forced to wear visor. Same will soon happen with neck protection.

I think point deductions regardless of intent is better. I'm not even sure that the winning fighter would want to win via DQ necessarily.

Just affix foam dampeners which are worn on the ends of the fingers, so eyepokes dont do much damage
