I made a post recently in the Arcade in response to a criticism of screenshot mosaic of the absurd and obvious DEI in studios under Xbox's umbrella when Xbox is drowning in its competition against Sony by observing that the root of it is they aren't putting out great games, and the majority of their software properties are in the USA & Canada where wokeism is the disease that has taken hold of corporate culture. There is a popular website with gamers called the
GOTY tracker which tallies all Game of the Year awards from gamer publications across the globe. To substantiate my observation I cited the top dozen games for the most recent year, 2024, with the national headquarting location of company that developed them, and the company that published them correlating to their rank. Western studios are a mockery-- they have disappeared from the list like they were Keyser Soze. Take a look at it, and then rewind the clock a decade to 2014.

To heighten the obvious irony, in 2014, the #1 game was
Dragon Age: Inquisition by BioWare. The #5 game was
Far Cry 4 by the sinking Ubisoft. And the top three Japanese games (#3, #4, #6) were all Nintendo games, their only multiplatform presence as a nation was the
Dark Souls 2 game by the ascendant FromSoftware which has become the most esteemed studio in the world presently.
