Event Horizon(1997 film)

If you liked Event Horizon, I recommend checking out the flick Solaris.

I've only seen the 72' original and not the remake. Solid film making.

Funny you posted this today as I was just jacking off to the hell orgy scene again yesterday.

Easily Paul W.S. Anderson's best movie, actually uncharacteristic for him like Stargate was for Devlin/Emmerich.

That's Tarkovsky bro. One of the GOAT filmmakers. He made another film, Stalker, about a mysterious environment that's hostile to humans. And many classics besides

I like it. I’ve seen it a few times. The ending is somewhat of a let down for me. Great premise though. I love the idea of bringing something back from the other side.

Have you seen Annihilation?

Sci-fi space horror starring Laurence Fishburne and Sam Neil. Interesting plot but the production and editing was rushed leaving more to be desired.

Basic plot:
  • Starship the Event Horizon travels through a black hole warp and disappears around Neptune.
  • It reappears 7 years later sending a distress signal.
  • Cpt Miller and his crew along with Dr Wier, who designed the Event Horizon, go to investigate.
  • The ship brought something back with it. From another dimension...

Flopped in the box office but has gained a small cult following.

Imagery is creepy and and characters are likeable for the most part.

Anybody else seen it? Did you enjoy it or hate it?

Liked it. Space horror is my favorite genre though

I liked the remake of Solaris and the premise that the alien was tempting the main character with the opportunity of a second chance with a relationship he wrecked by pushing for an abortion. Aliens in movies rarely tempt people with what they hold dear. Ghosts in movies tempt people with seeing their dead kids and the like but never aliens.

Sunshine is legit good even though the last third feels all wrong. The movie should have not have included the killer or in the least portraying him as a sane man who believes man has had its time. Maybe, though with the potential sabotage on the space station, being in space too long might be maddening. Who the hell drills a hole into the space station?

No mate. Is it good?
It’s not bad. Kind of a similar premise to Stalker although after reading that ones plot on wiki it sounds way darker.

It’s worth checking out.
