Movies Drive (2011)

this film was like a bad telenovela ending to me . I think im the only person who liked "only god forgives" more. like the first half of this film was epic but the second half with the teenagers was bad telenovela garbage.
I just wrote PINES off as a vague disdain for Bradley Cooper. I don't know what he did to piss me off, but it must have been something because I do not buy that guy in anything.

I like ONLY GOD FORGIVES. I wish Luke Evans had stayed in the role, tho. I kind of hate that THE HOBBIT has been the "best" film that really captured his screen presence during his prime. If he gets to be Namor, I hope the film does him justice.

Lol, you're like the Karen who sued the studio because she was under the impression it was going to be like The Fast and the Furious.

The only other film I saw by him was Only God Forgives, and aside from a badass score, I thought the movie was shit. "What the hell am I watching?!" kept going through my mind.

Yea I didn't like only God forgives

Check out the place beyond the pines

Cooper will forever be known as the guy from hangover

I usually refer to him as Not Chris Pine.

Interestingly, I do not refer to Chris Pine as Not Bradley Cooper but rather as Who TF is Chris Pine?
At this point I confuse chris pine, chris pratt, Liam hemsworth, and thor, who I think is his brother. Also I confused mcconaughey in the Lincoln lawyer with Cooper in limitless

Whenever ZODIAC, or the MCU for that matter, is on, I'm always, "How are all these dudes (brown hair, brown eyes) the same fucking dude????"

Lol I think it's the mcu that makes me confuse them, I know Chris pratt looks different from them but his name.is similar to pine

I keep seeing that stupid new makeup commercial with Lady Gaga and they use the Drive song. It makes me want to watch Drive again.

If you loved Drive, watch The Place Beyond the Pines.

I actually preferred this one to Drive though I think it’s a bit of a mixed bag in its own right. I really appreciate what Refn was going for with Drive and I think he succeeded in a bunch of ways particularly aesthetically and with the use of the score to complement that. But it just didn’t draw me in. I think Gosling and Mulligan are very good but I don’t think that film is either of their best work. Not that it has to be. That’s more of a director’s film than an acting showcase for sure. But still, I felt like I just couldn’t appreciate it to the degree a lot of people did. Still glad I watched it. From what I recall, Brooks sort of stole the show, playing against type.

Pines I really liked but the biggest problem I have with it is that Gosling/Mendes/Mahershala/Mendelsson segment at the beginning is so good (right through that Cooper chase section) that the other two segments of the film can’t really compare. They’re good, don’t get me wrong just not nearly as good which halts some of the film’s momentum. Still, really well done. Gosling was great in it.

It’s basically the same film just with a different score is my understanding. It’s on nexflix or amazon. I just stumbled on it when I was looking for something to watch.

quick edit - it’s drive radio 1 rescores. Honestly I think the score/soundtrack was perfect so doubt this is any good. Sounds shite actually, it’s on amazon prime

Why?

The synth music is part of what makes me me like that film.

Seems like a expensive and not funny joke.

Could of been a great movie ......... pretty meh I expected more but I guess decent

Drive and The Notebook are my top horny period movies to watch. Gosling bless xx

It was shit, the elevator scene is a perfect example of how tedious it was
