Does Sean Strickland Deserve this title shot?

Thinking this might be a favor for Trump and I think Colby vs Leon was the same thing. Just throwing that out there. I've got zero proof and they have done bad title shots for a long time, but still makes sense.
bwahaha.. Dana said this was happening a week after DDP got the win by a bad decision, the UFC look like idiots if they don't do this after Sean has saved their ass so many times and I even think him fighting Costa was a favor for the UFC because of a pullout. So many people care that this happens not because they like or care about SEan but because they don't like WWE or want the UFC to be like it.

I don’t see the point in putting this ugly sloppy fight again. Just let them both get smeshed

No, but what makes it worse is the fact Strickland himself and Khamzat mentioned multiple times on how Khamzat mauled and tapped Strickland several times, which takes away and interest or anticipation for a possible fight between them

So even if Strickland wins, no one cares, DDP vs Khamzat not only made more sense, but it's the much more intriguing fight as well,

Both things can be true, Khamzat deserves the shot, as does Strickland ...

It seems as Khamzat is having trouble fighting in the US ..

Sooo here we are and I'm excited as fuck

War Strickland

Yeah he does. His bounce back win over Costa is enough to earn him a rematch considering how close/controversial the first fight was. Khamzat deserves it too though. It's not one or the other, it's both.

Costa is a scrub who has one meaningful win ever over five years ago against an aging Yoel Romero in a fight where he could just as easily have lost.

Hardly a scrub. His fights with Whittaker, Vettori and Strickland were highly competitive. If he was a scrub they would've annihilated him.

It will be trivial for Dana White to get permission for Khamzat to fight in the U.S. as of January 20, 2025.
I mean anything since Dana rocked that Orange Taint.... still not sure he can fight in the states though.

The only argument against it is that Khamzat also deserved a shot.
He was the champ, lost a split decision, then dominated a long time contender in his return fight.
Thats the blueprint to earning a title shot as a former champ.

He deserves a rematch for their first fight being a close split decision, which I scored for Sean while rooting for Dricus, in and of itself, especially now that Izzy, who should not have gotten his shot against DDP, is out of the way.

If there is a real reason Khamzat isn't getting the shot the public doesn't know about, so be it. However still rather see Borralho or even Imavov over Strickland. It's horrible for UFC giving title shots after losing title or winning once after losing. I think it jams up divisions rewarding these guys.

IMO he does deserve it. He lost a close decision to DDP. That fight could have gone either way. If Khamzat can't take the fight, then it definitely goes to Strickland.
