Does khabib even lift ?

DC said he benches 240 during a periscope interview, which I think that might be his one rep max. He's also stated he can't do pull ups which is actually shocking to me since that's a much more useful exercise than benching.
There is a video of him in the background of an interview repping 225 lb 19 times when DC was in Strike Force. His bench would probably be around 400 or so. He probably meant that's what he works out with or something. Just look at a pic of DC when he first got into MMA. If you're going to tell me that guy couldn't bench his weight, I'm not believing it.

Add to this that DC was a high-level football player I had a full ride to LSU as a linebacker. DC was probably benching 240 and Junior High lol

Yes there's a video of him bench pressing. I think he was lifting about two plates for reps



That looks like 2 25’s, 2 10’s and 2 5’s on each side... 195 lbs total... BUT, he’s probably doing some crazy circuit, or lifting while he’s otherwise exhausted...

They look small, so I don’t think the bigger plates are 45’s, but if so, he’s benching 275 lbs... which would make sense for his top-end.

This thread is classic sherdog. Khabib does strength and conditioning. Yes, he lifts weights. He is ultra talented technically but he also shows up in great fighting shape and he cuts to 155. To the point where if a 165 division was made, I think he could do more than just compete.

And I’m a big Ferguson fan but Khabib has earned his respect from all MMA fans. Biggest question mark for me is if Ferguson can open up a cut or two how Khabib responds and I’m leaning heavily toward he’s a tough fighter and it won’t affect him too much.

I got money on DC being easily able to rep out his weight. Cormier just a few years ago was throwing legitimate HW’s around like rag dolls.

He's built right to bench press a lot for starters. Even if he never lifted (which he obviously has), I still couldn't see him not being able to rep his weight pretty easily, especially when he was in Strike Force and still pretty jacked.
 
That's it?!? He is struggling with 195 (45lb bar, 4x25lb plates, 4x10lb plates, 2x5lb plates)? I can bench press 225, and I am terrible at bench (I prefer dumbbells and can go up to 100 in each hand).

His form is also poor, arms too far apart. He is terribly uncomfortable, you can tell.
I am sure you would outwrestle him easy too.

i'm pretty sure DC has admitted he's not strong in weight lifting. like he can't lift a lot of weight. i believe it.

i know rugby players who aren't the strongest in the weight room, but on the field they're like running into a wall.

I can't find the video of him bench pressing in the background of a Strike force interview, but if you think this guy has a max bench of 240lbs, you've been eating retard sandwiches. Just watch the way he throws Josh Barnett into the air. There's just no way he's not strong in a weight room as well as on a mat or in a cage. Not only is he pretty jacked, but he's built right to lift a ton in the weight room. Like, if he were to eat everything in site, and take a few cycles of D-ball, he probably puts up 500lbs on the bench in a year or so.
