I hope not, but highly likely he will.

If it's true he only has like 3-4 fights left in him or so. Which isn't much.

I hope he fights twice a calendar year. But hard to believe he will.

That's if something radical changes in his fight pattern.

Sadly, he already wasted too much time as is. Hopefully, he picks up the pace again and makes it count. Otherwise we’ll be left with another case of Khabib level love/hate and what ifs.

Yeah, think he's got 1-2 left in him to be honest.

no That is 6 fights if he fights twice a year

Is De Ridder next?
after, the winner of Imavov Vs Borrahlo?

Then, probably a super fight Vs another champion,
either moving up or down.

So, My guess is 3 fights left.

True dat.

I really hope not, he's only had a handful of fights in UFC, would be a very short career if he did.

I think his plan is to be active now, since his health and visa issues seem solved.

Also, him being champ will both make it easier for him to find opponents and it will also probably motivate him to be more active, given his increased salary.

Remember, he was ready and injury-free since his Whittaker-win and was put on ice due to the rematch no one wanted to see.

Hopefully he can hang in there until about 2029-2030.

Also, him talking about maybe wanting to fight the WW-champ and/or LHW-champ indicates that he won't retire so soon.

He also said Caio was wrong about him wanting to retire after becoming champ.

I don't see him having a long career. I still think he pulls out of his next fight, and we end up with an interim champ. I also don't see him fighting more than once a year without injuries, so at most he probably defends his belt 2-3 more times before he retires.

If he tries to go back down to 170, he's gonna get TJ Dillashaw'd. He'd also lose to Ankalaev, although I do believe he would fight Alex Pereira.

I think he will fight Imavov in January in Abu Dhabi and take on winner between RDR and Fluffy in July or August in Abu Dhabi.

He will then go down to WW to fight Shavkat for the WW belt and then fight the LHW title for Ankalaev.

in total he will fight another 7-8 before retiring at the age of 34-35

While I think Saturday night's performance will be reserved for really dangerous opponents like RDR and DDP, I hope so. His inactivity over the last few years has made me less than confident that we'll ever see any sort of frequency out of him now that he has what he wants. He's going to hold onto that belt as long as possible. Don't see a defense more than every one or two years.

A better question would be;"Do you hope Khamzat retires before 34?".

I feel like the people still going on about him fighting once a year ignore the reasons for his previous inactivity and just want to have something to continue to whine about.

No one is retiring while on top. Why? Because MMA is a poor man's sport and fighters make bank during a short period, while they hold the belt and get PPV-main-event money. GSP retired because he got burned out, and Nurmagomedov because of his father's death. Outside them, no one retired while they were getting 7-figure paydays

retiring is the hip thing to do these days.
