When the dust settles and they feel like both parties UFC & Jones team negotiated for the right money.

Do you think he'll actually fight him? Or Jones will never take on the #1 HW contender that has an Interim belt.

anybody who thinks Jones is scared of this British guy is just a hater. if they ever fight, Jones is going to smash this guy and people will bring up ngannu how Jones ducked him. people just wanna see him lose thats it.

The guy has done it all he isn't going to be scared of a new coming fighter just cuz he is fatter than him lol
jones iq lv jones's arsenal is unmatched there is a reason why he is undefeated and that cuz he always find a way to solve the puzzle in front of him.

any fighter that goes to fight at this level is never scared.

No, but I don't think he should have to. As long as he's made that call within the next 3 months and things can start moving forwards, I don't care if he fights Aspinall, or vacates the belt and fights Pereira, or retires.
What needs to end is this charade of claiming to be too old to fight the top guys, but also wanting to hold the belt.

People wanna see the best fight the best. Is that too much to ask?

They gave him a reported 15 mil for UFC 309 (career high). I'm guessing it would take at least double that..

Which really shouldn't be much of an issue for these assholes. Just give it to him. Although I guess maybe the prospect of paying up the big bucks to potentially see Jones beat the next best thing in the division and then disappear isn't super lucrative either.

It's same shit like it was with Ngannou: he instanly talking about money. He never brings money fighting Gane and Miocic. He knows Dana's weakest side. So no.
heyy at the end of the day, its a business as well and Jones is a clever guy he wants to milk it out in a proper way and he could very well get the pay rise ;) this time as people really wanna see him fight the British guy

Yeah, i understand his reasons, but why it wasn't a problem when he fought Gane and Miocic? That what i'm confuse of.

Tom is higher risk than Gane and Stipe were. Jon isn't gonna take this fight unless they pay him enough to risk his legacy as Tom has a very good chance of putting an end to it.

How does it risk Jones legacy though? If he loses to the #1 contender/interim HW belt holder, I don't see a big deal. He lost to the very best, it's not bad at all. His legacy won't be affected at all imo. They will just say Jones is old or he's just not built to be a HW or he just got caught.

No shame in losing to a fighter like Aspinall. The Dominick Reyes fight with Jones was more legacy destroying imo. Now that we have hindsight to look back.

Yeah it's not a big deal if you are not a narcissist like Jon.

Valid point indeed. If were looking through his eyes, yes it's a big deal of course. He doesn't want to have a legitimate loss in his career. He wants to retire virtually undefeated. So yeah it makes sense through his perspective.

But he doesn't know it's really not that bad. Tom could very well be the champion for awhile so losing to him is not shameful at all.

Jon made it perfectly clear, he wants a purse on par with boxing money which is more than the ufc has paid any fighter before. Same as what he was 'negotiating' with Ngannou, he's asking for that much because he knows he'll lose and that's the price of his ass.

Jon is the center of the universe, the greatest gift to man in his mind. Losing to Tom is more than just not wanting a legitimate loss, or retiring undefeated, or the shame that comes associated with it. Losing to Tom would send him on the biggest crash out we've ever seen from him. Especially now with all the people including Tom calling him a duck.
