I thought I remembered DW started out pro-catchweight but said no when it started being seriously discussed, but here he is saying catchweight in mid-2012, so I guess I was mistaken on that.

UFC just has better overall numbers this past decade than when GSP and Silva was in their arguable primes.

McGregor was too young back in those days, to help prove this theory out.

So it probably would of done around the same profit wise, regardless i believe.

If not, then why the Silva fight didn't happen ? The Spider was willing to go down to 180 lbs which would be a fair weight for the contest and a lot Sherdoggers say Georges would've easily beat Silva.

Because GSP was scared of Prime Andy. He made every excuse in the book not to fight him. It was only when a much less dangerous fighter in Bisping was the champ that GSP was willing to take the fight, and at MW no less. But even with Andy at 178 (which Anderson said he would do) GSP was too much of a coward to go for it.

The horn sounded as soon as Bisping fell so there was no time for follow up shots so Andy tried to call the fight himself but the ref wasn't having it. Bisping was able to get to his corner and was ready to go for the next round so it wasn't a finish.

The money might be closer than most of us would expect tbh. Purely because the UFC was having a weak PPV year in 2017 with no Conor or Ronda, having GSP come back gave them one of like two semi big cards they had the whole year.

But yeah, its a shame we never saw GSP/Silva at some point in the late 00s/early 10s. I'd have gone with Anderson in that fight.

Bispong was fucking queered up and not even trying to intelligently defend himself, which should be enough to stop the fight. Either way, 3rd was a 10-8 round for Silva, and then had bispong back on queer street in the 5th. Maybe even another 10-8, plus Silva won the 4th round 10-9.

The "Olympic committee" itself is aware that at least 40-50% of athletes have taken PEDs which is not consistent with the 1-2% positive rate.

I thought the same thing. Do away with all of the testing and just send out the bro’s to do a visual inspection. Of course fighters like Andy, Josh and Big Tim would fly under the radar because they don’t look the part.
