Do you think Dana shoud strip Islam for ducking?

No, he's been busy fighting. He never ducked any fight. He just want to hype his next fight by having the two top contenders fight it out for a title shot.

Islam fans really do not want it with illa and it's kinda fucking hilarious if you think about it. They credit him for being a real champ taking on moicano on a day's notice but will not fight illa with 6+ months notice. weird.

Okay so illa has to earn it, and Armen can't have it because he did a no no, so now we have to give Islam gaethje not his choice bratha, just fighting who is there....

I agree. Also Islam has yet to defend his belt against a legitimate #1 lightweight contender yet, albeit through no fault of his own. Dustin Poirier was the #3 contender behind Oliveira & Gaethje at the time.

I think Khabib's team want Islam to defend against Arman to keep the division moving forward.

Can you blame him? He got cucked by 145 lb Volk in the first fight, with the fight ending with Volk in top position beating his ass. He escapes with the razor thin decision that he would've lost under Pride rules.

In the rematch the same thing starts playing out except Volk has his grappling figured out from the beginning, easily reversing and pushing Islam against the cage whenever he feels like it. Islam lands the Hail Mary headkick like Leon vs Usman and the relief washes over him, he feels like he's finally done having to go against FW elite and can go back to the much weaker less talented 155 division.

Then this new 145 monster comes on the scene that is better than Volk in literally every aspect of MMA and has 10 times the KO power. He streamrolls Volk much easier than Islam could ever dream, and now he wants to move up and take your shit like it's lunch money. Heck I would be ducking that fight too.
 
Yes strip the only interesting champ in the whole org because he s not fighting some straw weight who just moved up. IP ban this cream puff and shame him.

The opponent for Jones / Islam has differences.

Aspinall is ranked higher. Aspinal has more consecutive wins in his weight class than the champion has fights in the weight class. Aspinall is interium champion.

Islam wants ranked opponents at the weight class with a proven ability to be a legitimate contender at the weight class. Arman should be first, but if not Gaethje, Oliveria… even Paddy is ranked higher and more proven in the weight class than Topuria.

Refusing to fight someone due to wanting to fight better and more qualified opposition at the weight class is significantly different than ducking the obvious #1 contender who is interium champion when there is virtually no one higher ranked ir more qualified to fight.

Arman is the best. He's the guy who Islam should be fighting and Islam showed up to fight him, so he's clearly trying to fight the best. But right now the UFC and lots of idiot "fans" disagree, so Arman's not even going to get the offer.

Sure, Oliveira beat Gaethje before, but each of them are off 1 win, Justin's win is sadly more relevant, and Islam hasn't fought him yet. I'm not thrilled with him as a choice of contender, but if the #1 guy isn't gonna fight, and #2 already got beat, I don't see a, reason to complain that #3 is being asked for. That's how divisions work, not with MMA math using fights that didn't happen in the division
 
Well he should definitely have to fight some actual lightweights at some point


All his defenses are against former featherweights Just like lhabib
