How is Islam ducking anyone?. Topuria has never fought at LW before except once against Herbert and basically got knocked out, but Herbert woke up him with the follow up shot which can happen sometimes in fights, he is a FW and has 1 title defense lol.. ONE!!!!. Its not like he is some long reigning champion who has beaten everyone, so many fighters he has never fought at FW. Everyone who is in the current moment seems to be the best ever and doing amazing but its the tiktok 15 second memory everyone has these days. He needs to do far more to be such a so called legend getting any title fight he wants. Islam has done nothing wrong imo.

A champion doesn’t demand fights. He should fight whomever is next in his own division. It always USED to be like that. Not only do they want to move up for a free TS. But only if it’s against the guy they want to fight. But not if the current Champion successfully defends in his next fight. Because of the silly reason they don’t want to fight another Muslim.

that was particularly heard after he KO'd Volk in the 2nd fight
now Ilia, a FW champ has just come up to LW and wants an instant title shot before beating any LW contenders

Since you apparently really are that stupid, Jones has an interim champ to fight who's beaten 8 contenders and 3 of the other 4 guys in the top 5, and has done significantly more in the division than Jones has himself. Islam said he either wants a chance for a 2nd belt like everyone else seems to get, or a ranked contender in his own division. He's said repeatedly all Topuria has to do is fight anybody in the top 5 and get himself ranked, and he'd be happy to fight him instead of denying him the same chances they give to others and making 3 of his 5 defenses against guys who aren't even ranked LWs.
