International Do you support allowing Chinese EVs into the US without tariffs?

Well you won't like my answer but I say that's why we leave it to the market. There are exceptions as some firms like weapons manufacturers have national security implications and in some cases foreign companies are competing unfairly by subsidizing their domestic industries but in general we should let the market sort things out.

You should oppose the tariff if you're a consumer, an environmentalist or a free market purist. You should support the tariff if you're a proponent of economic/national security. It really depends on where you stand.

If you want a balanced approach, impose a 25% tariff. It will still provide some buffer for domestic EV producers, but not enough for them to sit on their asses and coast.

American automakers missed the train and they shouldn't expect protectionism to save their asses every time.
