Ank is usually slow. He is powerful, deceptively fast when counterstiking, but plodding when it comes to movement. If he starts in a higher gear, he has a chance to overwhelm Alex, maybe pin him against the fence and take him down. His gnp is vicious. If he starts his usual slow kickboxing approach, he is fucked.

I dont give the UFC money so i wont comment. But Ankalaevs fight was the worst fight on the main card last weekend.

I just think people are writting Uncle laev to soon.
I am not fan by any means, but this is a guy who have caveman power, speed , good reflexes, in all honest i think he gives big problems to Poatan, and i belive he will stand and bang. The problem with this guy is he doesnt check low kick, but becourse he is such a brute he doesnt even know he is missing half a leg.
Also i dont know why he stopped pursuing Rakić in 3rd round, must check that fight again.

I don't think anyone is writing Ankalaev off but I think your assessment is a bit off. Ankalaev has underrated power but he telegraphs and leans too far into his strikes. Pereira rarely telegraphs and Ankalaev still struggles with leg kicks. I don't think Ankalaev has enough power and enough volume to beat Pereira.

And again standing with Pereira is a bad idea. Some will argue look at what Rountree did. He got Pereira to the fourth round. Okay and what price did Rountree pay for standing with Pereira for 4 rounds?

I wasn't impressed with either of them, both of them look slow and ploddy, Rakic was landing some very nice kicks in round 1 and then stopped throwing them (while his corner was saying he was up on the card by a lot) lol weird corner?? dunno what was up with them, but he stopped throwing much, Ank is not accurate like Alex, Alex is so accurate in the striking. I didn't personally enjoy the fight, I thought they looked sluggish

Ankalaev has the skillset to get it done, he controlled Jan for 2 rounds straight when he actually made an effort to. Could definitely win a decision or get a GNP finish against Alex.
