Everytime at my grandparents growing up fried spam served as a breakfast food.

Yellow Spam rice with cilantro. Every time.

Fry the spam in olive oil until crisp, rendering the fat

Add rice, toast rice in the olive oil and rendered fat

Add a pinch of salt, you won’t need much because of how salty the spam is, 1 bay leaf, 2 cloves finely minced garlic, some finely chopped onion, a bit of oregano and a packet of Sazón or some achiote paste, paprika and saffron for color and flavor

Stir frequently for a minute or so until the garlic and onion are softened up and releasing their aroma

Add a healthy amount of fresh chopped cilantro leaves and stems to taste

Add enough water for the amount of rice you are making

Stir and bring to a boil, cover and lower the heat, simmer until the water is abrobed and the rice is cooked through, should be fluffy and not sticky at all

Fucking enjoy with some hot sauce and some fried eggs on top

I think I had it before but never frozen. It's not even that cheap here probably 5 dollars for 500 grams if it's the same looks similar though but they don't have it frozen here.

Yes we eat a ton of spam here in Hawaii. Spam musubi, spam and eggs, spam in omelettes, spam fried rice, spam moco…

Spam is delicious. On par with bacon.

Go ahead and let people believe it's gross, it will keep the price down.

Spam is over $4/pound. So much for keeping the price down. It's just ground up ham and fat.
