Do You Consider Benson 'Smooth' Henderson Boring or Not?

I find guys like Diego Sanchez and Benson Henderson boring because there is almost 0 chance the fight will be finished in either way. It seems as if Benson doesn't take any risks which makes for a boring fight.

doesnt take any risks? he jumped guard on a standing arm triangle in his very last fight

It one of the worst complaints.

Risk is not a good thing. If you want to watch someone purposely put themselves in danger, watch something else.

So is your false dichotomy

Two time fight of the year, nominated for a third, several bonuses for his performances, several back and forth wars, can fight anywhere from any position, doesn't stop bell to bell, all of which is against top level competition.

If Bendo is boring to you then you are watching the wrong sport and/or are retarded. If you disagree with my assessment good for you. Have a cookie.

What risk did Bendo took in fights with Edgar, Diaz, Gil or Thomson?

Upkick that landed on Edgar?? And?? Thats it?? In 10 rounds one upkick?? So much risk.

He was dominating Diaz so much it was not even funny yet he couldn't finish him and as Thomson shown that Diaz can be finished if you do the right things.

Bendo took risks with Guida because he is a lower level fighter and Bendo knew it. Guida didn't KO anyone for over 3 years when they fought and he still didn't KO anyone till this day so standing and brawling with Guida is not some accomplishment in my book. Stand and bang with Pettis and see how that goes. Oh yeah, we saw how that went....both times

Bendo is content to maintain distance, land kicks or grind against the fence. Nothing wrong with it but don't expect me to find him as exciting as Condit or someone like that

too lazy to keep posting

he tries to finish all the time, he just faces people that almost never get finished

Nearly fell asleep! So boring.

8 decisions, 3 of them controversial splits.

benson is a great, hardworking athlete and a fantastic weight cutter, but he is not a fighter.

He has 9 finishes and 10 decisions.

But ya, the professional fighter is not a fighter. That's hilarious.

No. Dude is a beast and gets a crazy amount of hate. All the first page posts ITT make all the necessary points about him so I don't feel the need to restate everything.

Says your Sherdog blue belt?

This response is the one the most embarrassingly stupid arguments that people use online.

I'v never walked on the moon but I can tell you what it's made out of and I've never been a professional fighter but I know what one looks like and Ben "Well, I think I won" Henderson isn't it.

Yet he fights professionally for a living. Gets paid a lot of money to punch people in the face and take them in return.

But obviously you know better what a real fighter is, because you watch them.

Yes, exactly. I spend hours watching fights, reading about fights, reading about fighters, reading about fighting styles, watching different fighting styles, learning about human anatomy, learning about physical health, athleticism, talking to fighters, talking to athletes, listening to analysis by experts, journalists, podcasts, etc. I learn as much as I can, and I am very good at learning, and I spent hours dissecting that information and determining as much absolute truth as I can.

This is called research and is the pillar of human knowledge and the foundation of every meaningful scientific and philosophical endeavor on the planet.

Not only is it entirely possible for me learn a lot about fighting from these efforts but it is absolutely possible that I could learn more about fighting than some actual fighters.

How many terrible fighters went on to become excellent coaches?

You think Greg Jackson is a better fighter than Jon Jones? Hell no. But who do you think knows more about fighting? I'll take Jackson any day of the fucking week on that.

You're not a terrible fighter. You're a sherdog blue belt.

You're like every dumb teen who thinks he has the world figured out, then gets a job and has to pay rent.

Anyone who says he is, is blinded by hate, Benson is no lay and pray fighter. He is always active and has a diverse range of weapons to attack with. He is however not a finisher and he has been gifted decisions against top notch opponents. I like him as a person but am over him as a fighter after all these botched decisions.

not engaging in LNP doesn't preclude him from being a boring fighter, nor does the fact that he is clearly very talented. personally I'm at the point where I'd rather watch a Jon Fitch fight.

Benson is a professional fighter.

No matter what you say about him that isn't going to change. The guy gets paid to fight, and is damn good at it. Your elitist ramble is nothing more than bullshit. The FACT is, Benson is most certainly a fighter. Liking or disliking his style does not change that.

And you're like a mental handicapped freak in a sidewho who when the nice man tells him the world revolves around the sun shouts back "duhr you never been to the sun you don't know that."

You are seriously that stupid. You should be ashamed of yourself.

You saying Benson is not a fighter, is not anything close to figuring out the earth revolves around the sun.

Grow up little boy.
