He went on trial and was convicted with plenty of evidence.
The case was only dismissed in appeal because he paid her off so she didn't show for the appeal.

He has 4 wins after only 2 years in the UFC. That is very impressive. Not many HWs in the UFC can claim that the last two years. He was also quite new to the sport before joining the UFC, that makes it even more impressive.

Actually it did go to a bench trial and he was convicted. But hey, if you want to continue to defend a woman beater go right ahead.

I can't recall a whole bunch of hype from fans or people with high expectations. Sure there were a couple but more people were eagerly awaiting the fight when Hardy got the shit beat out of him. The UFC hyped his name manly for it brought as a known controversial NFL player. UFC probably didn't expect him to last this long. I think many expected losses to happen early on. He showed improvement as he went along and seemed to respect this thing and those competing in it. Where does he go now? Does he stick with it or go to boxing? I don't see any more success for him boxing and if anything might be even worse against experienced boxers.

There was no Hardy hype train here. People laughed their asses off when he got DQ'd in his first UFC fight and then largely lost interest in even insulting him over time.

I think hitting women is terrible, but more than likely hardy isn't the only one in the UFC who has hit a woman. I believe some people can change and he has stayed out of trouble as far as i know since he started fighting. As far as skills go he has some potential, but his cardio is beyond terrible. If he flops in his next fight with terrible cardio i can see him getting axed

My expectations were he was bringing in power/athleticism without skill, and he's succeeded. Even skilled guys can get caught off guard by him so he's no easy fight. He's kind of like my modern Bob Sapp kind of fighter to watch. HW division is so shallow if anyone gets a winning streak going they could be champ so never know.

Is he a world beater? No not yet, maybe never will be.
Does he have the potential to be champ someday? Sure, if he keeps dedicating everything to MMA I don’t see why not, the guy is a specimen and there’s no denying that.

I think all things considered he has exceeded expectations so far and has shown he def has the potential to keep getting better.
I’m not a fan or hater, but I will tune in to see where his road ends up, more talent in MMA is never a bad thing.

He will never be champion in my opinion. The Ufc has thrown him easy softball matchups and he still looks mediocre.

He is not horrible but there is something wrong with how he fights.
A guy that big and powerful shouldbe able to do way more damage with his strikes. He threw 7 right hands in a row to Tybura without significantly hurting him.
As it stands, he has only the inconvenients of his size (shitty cardio) without the advantages.

Plus he seem to be a bit of a pussy. He is timid on the feet, and a quitter on the ground.

Man he is trying hard and going for hard fights. He stepped up to fight Volkov on short notice. He came to the game late. Give the man some time. He prob will never be champion but with a couple decent wins will be a contender and a good action fighter. His prev athletic experience was fucking football. Its not like he was a great wrestler like Brock. I do nit think any one seriously expected him to walk in and walk over all the competition.

So no I dont feel stupid for hyping him. He has basically fullfilled expectations and deserves a second chance to create a new life for himself.

I dislike him strongly but I kind of respect him as a fighter to be honest. Guy's extremely new to this sport and fighting guys like Volkov and Tybura without hesitation is admirable. He's proven he's at least a decent low-level HW who can beat those who don't belong in the UFC, that's basically my take on him though. Can't see him becoming anything more than that with his stinking cardio.
