Do people feel stupid for hyping up Greg Hardy

What’s up with ppl just wanting others to fail.

Is he a world beater? No not yet, maybe never will be.
Does he have the potential to be champ someday? Sure, if he keeps dedicating everything to MMA I don’t see why not, the guy is a specimen and there’s no denying that.

I think all things considered he has exceeded expectations so far and has shown he def has the potential to keep getting better.
I’m not a fan or hater, but I will tune in to see where his road ends up, more talent in MMA is never a bad thing.
Good, fair points.
My take: The guy is lame and outwardly, transparently insecure. And not the coy, timid, harmless type of insecure: the kind that needs to hurt and dominate other people (man or woman unfortunately) to feel better about himself. He puts on this super fake "killer" act, but probably isn't actually that bad of a guy . . . which makes it even lamer.
Combine this with the fact that he was corporately pushed from day-1, and over-hyped to attract casuals, and I can totally see why real MMA, or just MA fans, don't like someone with his personality.
Erhem. . . and he was finished by one of my all-time least exciting/least favorite fighters, Tybura.
So I don't think it's "all these people hating" for no reason. . . it seems pretty clear to me.

For balance, he's shown a great attitude *post* fight, win or lose. That shows that there's some redeemable character there, so I don't think he's de facto a bad guy. More cringey. That being said, it's easy to be humble *after* the fight. Other notable insecure d-bags such as McGregor have appeased their ego enough during the fight that they can be almost humble afterwards, so it's not like that's much of a feat.

Lol Sherdog didn’t hype Hardy much at all. Piss off with that rhetoric.
??? He was crazy hyped here. It's the place I saw him hyped most. Not sure why you think otherwise, or why you're defensive about it.

A man who was convicted of domestic abuse, and sanctioned by the nfl for finding credible evidence he used violence in at least 4 situations against the woman, and had pictures of the injuries he caused, was now going to make a living in a sport based around violence.

I dont remember many ppl ever saying that he should never make a living again, but that perhaps making a living by inflicting violence was a bit callous and not the greatest message to send. So, if that's white knighting... yea I'm cool with that.

If all that were true, MMA would be the best career route for him to take. But you keep saving damsels in distress

Yes, let’s put violent domestic abusers on TV, how else are they supposed to pay rent? There is NO other way. No one else will hire them unless its gonna be broadcast

Yes, let's let the mob decide where and when we can earn a living. #MobRule2021 baby!

I too have a rent to pay and the UFC is still not offering me 200K per fight to be a bum in the octagon.
Dana has cut way better (and cheaper) fighters than Hardy.

The UFC ain't the Olympics. Still can't wrap your head around that concept, eh?

He has improved a ton since his debut and has taken on short notice fights many guys wouldn't take. Every fight has a loser, sherdog just has an obsession with kicking fighters while they are down

The concept of overpaying ugly and dumb NFL rejects so we can watch overweight asthmatic can crushers fight in the top MMA league?

Just like the dumbasses who backed ronda beating men in the ufc in 2015. Where are those idiots now?
That was some of the most outrageously dumb crap I ever read! Ronda believed it, and her fans did too! That she could arm bar Cain or beat Mayweather! When she was ko’d by holly it was nice to put all that utter nonsense to bed.

Yeah I’d never heard of him before the Contender, his improvement has been unbelievable since. He’s only relatively young for a HW, a great athlete and a shallow HW pool means he sure isn’t done yet.
His improvement from fight to fight has been impressive. I hate the A level athlete crap but that isn’t Hardy’s fault that people are idiots. I doubt he’ll ever be champ but he could be, I’m happy to have him on the roster right now.

Oh and I forgot about Hardy claiming he would be a HW champ in MMA and boxing...lol fuck that guy.

Is he a world beater? No. Is he a woman beater? Yes.
Fuck that guy.

how do you know? THis was thrown out of court and he has maintained that he is innocent the entire time. She never showed up to court and they threw the case out of the window. So exactly how do you know this even happened? Im not saying he didnt do it, but he was never convicted and it never even WENT TO TRIAL. So you are willing to convict a guy in the court of public opinion based on heresay and conjecture by a witness that never even testified. Are you one of those people that actually believes everything he hears on the news?

There was definatley a lot of...

"now you're about to see what a real A-level athlete can do....6 months wrestling training and Hardy will be HW champ"

...
going on here, back in 2018 when he was smashing nobodies on DWCS

I think this is just a fantasy mma fans have created.

Didn't see one person who wasn't obviously trolling who said anything like that. Much less "a lot"

He was so lost on the bottom. After that particular display I have to wonder about his various camps. Also he looked like he was not able to take those hits, not that you should but he'd rather give up than take a shot on the bottom. I can't see him cracking the top five.

I never thought he was legitimate until the Volkov fight but he erased all that with his last fight.
