Do people feel stupid for hyping up Greg Hardy

What’s up with ppl just wanting others to fail.

Is he a world beater? No not yet, maybe never will be.
Does he have the potential to be champ someday? Sure, if he keeps dedicating everything to MMA I don’t see why not, the guy is a specimen and there’s no denying that.

I think all things considered he has exceeded expectations so far and has shown he def has the potential to keep getting better.
I’m not a fan or hater, but I will tune in to see where his road ends up, more talent in MMA is never a bad thing.

Agreed except for the part that he's a specimen.

He was 100% specimen for football. But he's nowhere near MMA specimens like Ngannou, UberReem, Lesnar, Carwin, young JDS, etc whose physicality and athleticism for MMA is/was utterly ridiculous.

I think he's done pretty damn good so far.

He certainly hasn't been a total flop. I mean he has more UFC wins than losses. I think this is as far as he's gonna go though. Might fight out his contract? I think he already did

He is an athletic 6' 5" / 265#. He is still young to the game. The guy clearly has potential and could make a run in the depleted HW divisions. A couple wins and he fights a top guy. Win that fight and he is a title contender......not likely, but possible.

I think he’ll be fine. Needs to train more cardio for sure.

A man who was convicted of domestic abuse, and sanctioned by the nfl for finding credible evidence he used violence in at least 4 situations against the woman, and had pictures of the injuries he caused, was now going to make a living in a sport based around violence.

I dont remember many ppl ever saying that he should never make a living again, but that perhaps making a living by inflicting violence was a bit callous and not the greatest message to send. So, if that's white knighting... yea I'm cool with that.

You're trying to sound intelligent, but really sound fucking stupid. How many inner city troubled kids go to MMA or boxing due to problems?

If he has a problem with rage and violence, how would MMA, training, sparring and competing with other heavy weight men not be a great outlet to help him?

Fuck off cunt.

His striking has improved tremendously.... this says a lot about his work ethic and mindset. He was working Tybura hard on the feet.

Cardio is a major issue. I don't know if asthma is a problem, but I hope it's something that can be fixed.

Better cardio, TDD, a little more speed, some rudimentary ground game and he's good.

I don’t think anyone seriously hyped him to be the greatest thing ever. Maybe a little bit of it was unwarranted, but it wasn’t by much. He beat some jobbers and above but these guys were still UFC level fighters.

If he wants to work out his anger by training MMA, instead of beating up women (again) and paying them off not to go to court (the second time), good. But he can do that in the gym, not with people cheering him on in the UFC.

The reason this dude is a MMA fighter is because he wants his ego fed, not because he is trying to work through his "issues" or "pay rent" (this is someone who got paid an eight figure salary *after* his "cancellation").

Tybura is high level on the ground and great hardy was light years behind him in that aspect. On the feet hardy was beating him up until he got tired he needs to work on his ground game and cardio obviously.
But it was very strange how he turtled up so quickly on the ground in half guard. He gave up very quickly in that position.

Two words...

Black

Athleticism.

What are you talking about? We've all known he's got good power, good striking, and good potential for someone so young into their training/career, but has displayed suspect cardio and grappling. Nothing has changed. He nearly finished Tybura for the first, but lost for the latter reasons. Shitting on the Tybura loss is dumb. Volkov is the only fight he's had that he just has not been close to winning, and everybody knew it was a tall task to take on so soon into his career + short notice. Let alone after proceeding to hurt his hand in the 1st.

I feel far more stupid for having been on the Marlon Moraes train. Unlike Hardy he's an actual vet with supposed legit skills. Now he's 5-4, getting KO'd by the Rob Font's jabs of his division lmao.

I don't really remember anyone hyping Hardy up, he had very obvious flaws from the get go but he showed glimmers of promise to be a respectable contender, though he far from ever being title material. I think most were just interested to see how a former high level NFL player would transition.

He's fat as shit, he would do better if he cut 15-20lbs.
Dat A-level athleticism.

Physically, Hardy had potential, but he is a classic front running bully who mentally shatters if his opponent doesnt break early, or if he finds himself in an unfavourable position.

I don't think, at 32, he has time to fix those issues.

He should continue winning enough against low level opposition to be kept on the roster as a sideshow attraction, but he isnt making it into contention, or top 5.

White Knight Sherdoggers: CANCEL HIM NOW!!! HE HAS NO RIGHT TO PAY RENT EVER AGAIN!!!
Yes, let’s put violent domestic abusers on TV, how else are they supposed to pay rent? There is NO other way. No one else will hire them unless its gonna be broadcast

There was definatley a lot of...

"now you're about to see what a real A-level athlete can do....6 months wrestling training and Hardy will be HW champ"

...
going on here, back in 2018 when he was smashing nobodies on DWCS

I don't remember people going super overboard with him at all. Some dumb people here and there but that's it. It's not like a Thomas Almeida situation where there's no question, they mind as well give him the belt bla bla bla and now we almost forgot his name. It wasn't like half the site being retarded about him which we see often these days, it was like a vocal and obnoxious 3%. Maybe I just blocked it out though, I am quite good at just ignoring shit.

Lol I mean seriously some of y’all were hyping him up as the next big thing
But but but, A level athlete, hand egg players can be ufc champs with 2 weeks of boxersizing classes.

I hope everybody can let that shit go die now after the youtuber with 2 boxing matches against another youtuber KO'd the A level NBA player.
