That's an outlier that can be fixed, but you can't do that across the boards on prescription drugs or innovation goes away. You can't do it on food, or there will be shortages. Marxism can get bent. Fuck that.

I reject this, Trump has been a singularly influential voice in moving political discourse away from civility politics. In the wake of 9/11 there was some stigma and bigotry directed towards Muslims but you didn't see GWB playing into it, in fact he was the one who coined the often mocked phrase "religion of peace" and its not like Obama was anywhere near as divisive as Trump in his rhetoric either. And remember even during Obama's time Trump was fanning the flames of division with his birtherism theory. Trump represents a uniquely important milestone towards the end of civility politics in this country.

You're being selective. Obama and Biden were racially divisive. Mentioning to black voters Mitt Romney of all people was going to "put them back in chains" and Obama interjecting on the treyvon martain case that if he had a son "he would look like treyvon" which is an especially damning thing to do when your the sitting US president. Biden also stated something about going back to the Jim Crow era around the same time. All this and more sparked racial and anti police tensions that we still haven't recovered from. It reinforced narratives that the police were out to get or kill black people, causing more of them to freak out after a routine traffic stop. Also consider abortion rhetoric between then and now.

Consider the establishment media doing absolutely nothing but inflaming all of this and never holding his administration or Hilary Clinton to account for anything. Which is the entire point of having journalism in the first place.

I'm not here to point out that they are worse than Trump, or Hillary is worse or either way. It's to point out that we have been heading this way for awhile, even before trump

I can assure you that most leftists don't like the corporate Democratic Party or their billionaire donors. They will vote for them because it's so obviously better than the alternative.

Real leftists don't even see corporate Dems like the Clintons or Biden's as really left-wing. They're corporate centrist shills. Leftists just hate the corporations that own them less than the corporations that own the GOP.
