Elections DNC today in Chicago

They expecting Beyoncé to pull some weight with Gen X voters?

Remember when the dixie chicks were canceled by the right in 2003 because they said the iraq war was a stupid idea

They were right to say it. They were wrong to say it on foreign soil.

Quite a Cringe show DNC Tonight.
Is it the people smiling and having a good time, rather than being angry and pretending to be victims that’s throwing you off?

They were right to say it. They were wrong to say it on foreign soil.
Ah, the ol “you can only criticize American policy on American soil” rule.
<JagsKiddingMe>

I think a foreign country is a great place to express the idea that Bush’s war-mongering policies weren’t supported by all Americans.

So, constitutional rights stop once you leave the USA, huh?

Well, technically yeah…I mean you’re no longer in the USA and therefore fall under that country’s laws/rules.

But I think he just meant it was in bad taste to say “we’re on ya’ll’s side!” in a different country.

I personally didn’t care either way because the Dixie Chicks suck.

That's you Left Cult clowns projecting how you covet your politicians. Trump is an asshole, but I can support his policies and track record compared to what the Democrat Elite offer. Kamala's a puppet. We just experienced 3.5 years of Democrat puppet government and it sucks.

Oh I agree.

If you have time to kill, the video that (some more news) did on him is long but absolutely hilarious. It's basically Timmy being dunked on for his bad takes and predictions on nearly everything for years.
Yeah I've seen it. It's amazing that anyone takes anything he says seriously.

I think civility is good, but clearly unilateral disarmament hasn't really worked. What I think a lot of people have been hoping for is for decent rightists to speak out against Trump, but it's turned out that the numbers there are pretty insignificant--at least of ones who both see the problem and have the courage to speak out about it. Interestingly, a lot of Dem Congresspeople have said that their Republican colleagues tell them stuff like "if you think I'm bad, watch what would happen if I were more civil and got primaried and replaced."
Of course being civil is good but we shouldn't allow bad faith criticisms to induce us to shame and apology. I don't think any reasonable person can really believe that Walz' "get off the couch" jab is somehow beyond the pale after 9 years of Trump's endlessly divisive campaigning.
Civility politics were already eroding before Trump got elected in the first place though. My point applies not just to both parties and their respective followers but everyone that cares about following politics

I believe we would have been here regardless of Jan 6th or the questioned legitimacy of the elections by Hilary Clinton or Donald Trump. Political banter was already boiling prior to these events. Again we're not all Trumpers here but catch the same ravenous heat none the less
I reject this, Trump has been a singularly influential voice in moving political discourse away from civility politics. In the wake of 9/11 there was some stigma and bigotry directed towards Muslims but you didn't see GWB playing into it, in fact he was the one who coined the often mocked phrase "religion of peace" and its not like Obama was anywhere near as divisive as Trump in his rhetoric either. And remember even during Obama's time Trump was fanning the flames of division with his birtherism theory. Trump represents a uniquely important milestone towards the end of civility politics in this country.

Also, sleazy of him to include Clinton, as if there is some equivalence to Trump's attempt to keep power despite losing badly.

I do find it funny that he posted a puppet. If you don't think there's billionaires with their fist up Trump's ass like Jim Henson, then I've got some oceanfront real estate in Nebraska to sell you. Cheap too.

The country was in a spiral towards recession, people were getting reamed on pricing for drug they need to live, and people were getting into fistfights over a roll of toilet paper. DonOLD got FIRED by the American voter because he was a walking dumpster fire of a leader.

Yeah, how's your 401K doing now, vs. four years ago?
