I literally said Trump is a cult of personality earlier in this thread. Regardless if Trump is or isn't, Biden still fits that mold. You are deflecting like whomever I was responding did (I'm too lazy to check).

The fact that so many are quick to deflect legitimate concerns about Biden's mental state by pointing to Trump instead of addressing the issue head-on shows that there's still a reluctance to critically evaluate Biden.

Biden isn't as fun to make fun of as Trump especially since we all have known someone who has gotten older and started to decline mentally. Biden doesn't have MAGA bullshit or NFTs. He just has a 40 year history of warmongering. The tendency to defend Biden at all costs and brush aside valid criticisms is its own form of uncritical support.


The Trump bar is already pretty low. Expecting Harris to barely clear that bar is already expecting too much. We should have higher standards.



Harris may have spoken about removing medical debt at some point or capping drug prices. But she's done nothing about it as VP. I don't accept the argument that the VP is powerless. The VP can't write executive orders, but the VP can set their own agenda and advocate for policies.

Combating price gouging and creating housing are buzz phrases without substance. She has no plan on how to do so.

Harris is only pro union on Wednesdays and sometimes Fridays. She is inconsistent at best.

Restoring Roe v Wade but it's also a buzz phrase. The dems had a majority in the house and she is the tie breaker in the senate.

Saying words but actually fighting for those words are different things.

On the first part, I agree that Biden isn't great. He's a regular, run of the mill centrist democrat and hasn't done much, but to his credit he did do more than I thought he would. I also don't mind being honest about his mental facualties because he's clearly becoming senile. What I don't agree with, is attaching the cult of personality label to him. I don't see how it fits.

As far as Kamala's record, it isn't stellar either. However, in this campaign, what she has done and what she is running on policy wise, is a huge step up. You asked for policy positions worth of support, and those are what we have right now. Whether or not she follows through well, you never really know. History tells us that we're bound to get disappointed, but as I said picking Walz as VP, someone who has walked the walk, at least signals that there might be more to come. Purely based on policy platform, she and Walz has the best platform the left has seen outside of Sanders, and they might actually be able to win. Public sentiment seems to be changing and if the republicans lose big using their tired strategy of 'COMMUNISM' then it might be enough to finally convince the politicians that giving something back the voters instead of taking is viable.

Naive or not, I don't see any scenario where Trump is the better candidate for anyone who is left of center or belongs to the middle class and below.

That’s all their campaign has been since 2016. All about Trump. “If you hate Trump, vote Clinton/Biden/Harris!” Independent and Moderate voters have been catching on to this which is why you’ve seen more minorities supporting Trump publicly than before. They aren’t offering anything else.

I have plenty of issues with Trump but even more with Kamala. This isn’t sports where you hear folks say, “I’ll root for any team over that particular team.”

The Democratic National Convention was hit with a security scare on Tuesday as cops investigated multiple bomb threats in downtown Chicago.

The threats said pipe bombs had been placed in the Hotel Chicago West Loop and the Hyatt House Chicago, Fox 32 reported.

Officers also searched the Nobu Hotel.

The threats mentioned the four-day DNC happening at the United Center and 'anti-semitic statements'.

The DNC has bomb threats now. These are the people they tried to placate by not picking Josh Shapiro.

You want to make the healthcare system more expensive and worse for Americans but fund wars for other countries who try their best to avoid long-term miliary actions. We were/are paying some of the bill for Ukraine's healthcare while almost 70,000 Americans die from lack of access to healthcare every year.
