Our medical system is the worst possible combination of private and public. I would like to completely privatize the system, although I do think that a complete public system would also be better than what we have.

Biden isn't great and all, but to claim there's a cult of personality surrounding him, of all people, based on a few cheers at the DNC seems far fetched. Bringing Trump into the discussion here does make sense though, because he's an example of someone who actually has a cult of personality around him. Religious iconography, being compared to jesus, worshipped, having diehard fans. Many MAGA voters live and breathe Trump, engulfed in the memes, all decked out in Trump gear, buying NFT's, making him their whole personality and being devout followers. You simply don't see that anywhere else to that extent.

From what we've seen so far policy wise, Kamela is way better than Trump especially if you are on the left. Removing medical debt, cap on out of pocket expenses for prescription drugs, tax breaks for low income and expanding child tax credits, combatting consumer price gouging, creating housing, paid family sick leave, strengthening border security, restoring Row vs Wade, pro-union and at least she has spoken out against Israel - although I don't buy it. Waltz as VP also sends a very strong signal.

I literally said Trump is a cult of personality earlier in this thread. Regardless if Trump is or isn't, Biden still fits that mold. You are deflecting like whomever I was responding did (I'm too lazy to check).

The fact that so many are quick to deflect legitimate concerns about Biden's mental state by pointing to Trump instead of addressing the issue head-on shows that there's still a reluctance to critically evaluate Biden.

Biden isn't as fun to make fun of as Trump especially since we all have known someone who has gotten older and started to decline mentally. Biden doesn't have MAGA bullshit or NFTs. He just has a 40 year history of warmongering. The tendency to defend Biden at all costs and brush aside valid criticisms is its own form of uncritical support.

Harris may have spoken about removing medical debt at some point or capping drug prices. But she's done nothing about it as VP. I don't accept the argument that the VP is powerless. The VP can't write executive orders, but the VP can set their own agenda and advocate for policies.

Combating price gouging and creating housing are buzz phrases without substance. She has no plan on how to do so.

Harris is only pro union on Wednesdays and sometimes Fridays. She is inconsistent at best.

Restoring Roe v Wade but it's also a buzz phrase. The dems had a majority in the house and she is the tie breaker in the senate.

Saying words but actually fighting for those words are different things.
