If he wasn't the democrat VP that you have to pretend is some wonderful guy, and your kids just came home from school and told you about a 35 year old male teacher who doesn't have kids but is really into "LGBT issues" and started a club to mentor gay teenagers about their sex lives, and asked you if he could go on one of his trips to "study in China", what would your answer be? Would you first want to find out if he's "joyful", or would you do what any sane parent would and tell your kid there's no fucking way they're even allowed to get a ride from that guy?

I think I would get to know him well before I made any assessment frankly... I start with inherent distrust of all human beings though and then get to know them over time and change my perspective on that . But that's only in the area of safeguarding where I must assume any person that comes into my child's life could possibly be a phile.

Well its not like Trump disappeared in that time, him and his followers have been quite active. For example, ever since he lost the 2020 election he's lied about how it was stolen to the point of attempting a coup and to this day over 2/3rds of Republicans believe in that lie.
