The beltline is the topmost line. The glove landed on the belt/waistband itself and half of it was literally below the belt. Either scenario wasn't legal in this fight because the ref didn't allow it. By every measure it was an illegal shot.BS, thats as clear a shot of the punch as there is and you can CLEARLY see its right on the beltline of the trunks.
BoxRec has their own poll. The results were the same as they are here, 2-to-1 voting that it was a low blow.

The belt line is not the top most line, the belt line is covered by all modern trunks typically, the belt line is between the navel and the hips, the ref can’t make up rules off the top of his head or say “belly button down”, he doesn’t get to decide what’s legal punching area, it’s an imaginary line on the human anatomy, the top of the trunks is not the rule and it’s the refs job to decipher where the punch landed not come up with some imaginary line of his own choosing. The beltline is the topmost line. It's the line at the top. Hence beltline. Not belt. Anything below the navel is illegal and Usyk's navel isn't that low. No human's anatomy has it that close to the groin. The ref does decide where it's legal to punch if either of the fighters' trunks are high. That's the only reason they may decide to allow the beltline to be targeted. The ref didn't do that in this fight so it's irrelevant.
How come in the only clear shot of the punch doesn’t show “first contact” with the cup that supposedly moved up?It's line at the top. Hence beltline. Not belt. It did make contact with his cup. People that were actually there at the fight heard it. Barry Jones heard it and he's a Brit. If it's beneath the navel then it's illegal. The shot in question clearly was and Usyk's trunks weren't high. Slightly over his navel but that's common in the sport. Dubois was wearing his trunks up to his nipples. How come in the only clear shot of the punch doesn’t show “first contact” with the cup that supposedly moved up?
Eddie Hearn Delivers His Clear Verdict On Usyk-Dubois Low Blow Controversy“The entire fist was below the naval. The bottom knuckles miles below – it hit his protector – low blow.”
Eddie Hearn using his brain and some good old fashioned common sense. Unfortunately common sense isn't so common anymore.
Eddie Hearn Delivers His Clear Verdict On Usyk-Dubois Low Blow Controversy
Considering everything he said was spot on I don't think bias was even a factor in his assessment. His man has the fight. It's already in the process of being ordered by the IBF.Eddie Hearn's interest in having his boy Hrgovic fight Usyk next might be a factor in his "common sense" though.

No immediate rematch will be ordered. That's just wishful thinking on Frank Warren's part. The IBF has next in the rotation and they already stepped aside prior for the WBA. If you recall Hrgovic was already ordered months ago but they rescinded it. Now they're about to order him again. Not if another commission orders a rematch with Dubois or subsequently rules the fight a no contest.
Oleksandr Usyk vs. Filip Hrgovic: IBF Expected To Order Mandatory Title FightBoxingScene.com has confirmed that the IBF is prepared to order its mandatory title defense between Usyk and number-one contender Filip Hrgovic. The plan has been in place all month but parked due to the rotational system in place for unified titlists.

The far less exciting Easterner is winning a poll over the much more exciting Westerner on the most popular boxing site's message board? Apparently.Wow, so you're telling me the much more popular fighter is leading in the polls?
edit- lol its actually the boxrec forum. Thats like listing this site as proof.
And doing it in the British & Irish subforum against one of their own. Forgot that part. The far less exciting Easterner is winning a poll over the much more exciting Westerner on the most popular boxing site's message board? Apparently.
Paulie as a commentator always seems to touch on points people dont really touch on. i like him far more as a commentator than a boxer.Paulie has a point.
“I don’t even think the low blow is the biggest problem with the fight here. My biggest problem is that the fight is in the outdoors in Poland, it’s raining cats and dogs, they don’t have the ring protected, the ring is completely slippery.
I’ve trained in slippery rings and I could not stand it. If you’re dealing with rain and it’s getting inside the ring, you’re ruining the entire evolution of the way the fight is going to go. I don’t want to take away credit from Dubois or Usyk, they both put on an entertaining fight.
But when you’re a footwork based fighter and there’s a wet ring, it ruins everything. It’s possible that the body shot may not even land if the ring wasn’t wet.
How do you host a fight and you don’t protect the ring correctly from that kind of rain? It ruined the whole fight!”
Paulie was in some good fights, I always thought he got a bad rap. The Diaz fights were pretty good, the Cotto fight was good.Paulie as a commentator always seems to touch on points people dont really touch on. i like him far more as a commentator than a boxer.
They did, actually.but yeah, that was weird. if they knew it was gonna rain, why not put up a canopy or a tent over the ring? slippery ring just makes the fight harder for both men.
