Did CM Punk's UFC run make Brock's look better?

brock looked good because he was a fucking beast in his prime.

that beatdown on mir at ufc 100 is legendary.

Lmao like today’s hw division is any better? You have a one dimensional mediocre at best hw in ngannou who’s considered a top 5 hw .. Carwin would’ve put ngannou away easily hell Brock before his illness would’ve taken down ngannou in a flash and finished him with ease .. the hw division today is mediocre at best.. aside from Cormier and miocic= a bunch of cans tbh

Considering he won and until Stipe broke his tied record of title defenses what last year, you'd say he turned out to be good value for it.

First fight in the UFC was Mir, who was only 10-3 as a pro and 29 years old at the time. He wasn't old or shopworn at that point. By the time they fought again, Mir was only 30 and was 11-3. Again, not old nor worn out.

Herring was only 30 and not really worn out, he just wasn't very good. His reputation was just inflated because he fought in PRIDE and PRIDE nuthuggers think if you fought in PRIDE, that meant you were good.

Then he fought Randy. Yeah, he was old, I'll give you that. But Randy won titles when he was old, so that's not too relevant.

Then he fought Carwin, who was undefeated at 12-0, all knockouts. If anyone wasn't worn and torn, it was Carwin. He was a vicious KO artist and very dangerous.

Cain was still in his prime when Brock fought him, and Overeem was Ubereem at that point and very scary.

Brock was one dimensional but he had physical attributes that you couldn't ignore and the ability to keep the fight on the ground. He was also very hard to submit even with rudimentary defense. I don't think nobody else was thrown to the wolves like him. If anything, he went really far for a 30 year old noob.

No it had no effect of brock

Cm punk was essentially a fan who got the opportunity to train at a high level gym for a year and fight low level opponents.He just proved you cant roll off the streets and fight.

Brock had a real wrestling background it was really a whole different scenerio.

Brock won the title in 4 fights...his run is better than most fighters.
 
So now we're discrediting Brock are we? Guy's first UFC fight was against a former champ, he lost but showed promise. Most would have given up but Brock carried on & beat Herring, Randy FREAKING Couture, avenged his loss to Mir & beat the undefeated Carwin. Oh & in that run he won & defended the title. Plenty of talented guys didn't close to achieving anything like that in their UFC run.

Sadly I think it was Brock's success that influenced Punk's decision. Even though Punk wouldn't have their size, strength, speed advantages or Lesnar's legit wrestling. Despite training over a year & a half at one of the better camps he was still clueless.
