Brock's first run wasn't bad. He beat some names but his limited skillset eventually caught up with im.

Retired Herring (pretty sure that was Herring's last match after he shattered his orbital with that first punch), lost to Mir which he avenged later on and beat Randy.

Sure he's got the losses to Cain and Overeem that people talk about but his run wasn't terrible and stands on its own. Doesn't need CM Punk to make him look better

CM Punk was never an athlete nor a martial artist untill his old age.

Brock is a freak athlete who was juiced to the gills.

CM Punk was a normal guy who was not on steroids.

No offense to CM Punk but it is strange how he actually thought he was good. I think he even said he was considering making a run for the title and I think he was serious.

Dude had one heck of a schedule and went up vs top guys one after another and he did so well considering the learning curve and the opponents.

He won, unified and defended the HW belt when others still learn the sport on the regional circuit. Imagine if CM Punk went up vs the top 5's in WW and even won the belt how crazy would that be.

I think it should be taken into consideration CM Punk is like one of the least athletic guys compared to even most guys in the WWE. If he wasn't so good on the mic (by WWE standards at least) he wouldn't have even been that successful in pro wrestling.

Quite a few guys from the WWE as far as I can recall were scouted from the college wrestling scene and other athletic backgrounds.
