Sanders Backs Gun Control Legislation Ahead of Democratic Debate
1200x-1.jpg

One night before they were to meet in the Democratic presidential candidates' fourth debate of the campaign season, Bernie Sanders attempted to neutralize one of Hillary Clinton's most effective attacks against him: his voting record on gun-control.

In a press release Saturday, Sanders backed legislation that would weaken a 2005 law protecting gun manufacturers and dealers from lawsuits when their firearms are used in crimes. His vote for the law, the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, has been a sore spot for gun control activists and a gift to Clinton, who this week called him “a pretty reliable vote for the gun lobby.”

Republican Operatives Are Trying to Help Bernie Sanders
1200x-1.jpg

Republican operatives are having a strange crush on Bernie Sanders.

During Sunday night’s Democratic debate, the Republican National Committee made the unusual move of sending no fewer than four real-time e-mails to reporters defending the self-described democratic socialist from attacks by Hillary Clinton or echoing his message against her. Based on their content, one could be forgiven for thinking the RNC communiques came from the Sanders campaign.

I seem to recall this happening in 2008.

What were your thoughts on the dem debate?

I imagine this is because Republicanss hate Hilary more than anyone and because they think Sanders will be more unelectable as a self proclaimed democratic socialist?

My Bernie Sanders man crush is approaching critical mass.

Another one is out though with a newer but short time range showing Bernie 49, Clinton 43

I didn't get to focus much on it cause a friend called and ranted to me for probably 30 minutes. I did think Bernie was more aggressive than he was past debates and was far more clear on a line between himself and Clinton. It was an odd situation cause Hillary was tying herself hard to Obama's Administration as Bernie was continually trying to say the political establishment is the problem. I think Hillary wasn't as successful this debate hitting Bernie over gun laws but Bernie was more successful with distinguishing what Wall Street reform was between him and her.

I'd say it was a push debate. Bernie improved and Hillary stayed where she had been in previous debates. That could make people see Bernie as the winner but I think he shined a lot simply because he wasn't that great the past few.

Clinton: Email classification changes 'nothing'
90

Hillary Clinton’s “top secret” email classification changes “nothing,” the former secretary of state said Wednesday.

“I'm just going to leave it up to the professionals at the Justice Department, because nothing that this says changes the fact that I never sent or received material marked classified,” she told NPR.

POLITICO reported this week that an inspector general for the intelligence community had told both the Senate Intelligence and Senate Foreign Relations committees in a Jan. 14 letter that some of the emails on Clinton's home-brewed server contained references to "special access programs," which are classified above the top-secret level.

Clinton campaign accuses GOP of 'coordinated leak' in email scandal

Hillary Clinton’s campaign is accusing the Intelligence Community Inspector General and congressional Republicans of coordinating against its candidate to damage her electoral chances, in the latest flare-up of the nearly yearlong scandal over her use of a private server while secretary of state.

Clinton campaign spokesman Brian Fallon, asked on CNN’s “New Day” whether the email reports were taking a toll on Clinton, responded, “No, I think that Republicans are continuing to try to trumpet up and resurface these allegations for the purposes of hurting her campaign.”

IGGY,

You are too kind.

I agree that Jack may seem subtle to the casual observer, but its fairly plain to see, and has been for a long time, that Jack is a Clinton supporter.
Its pretty obvious that he only makes partially positive posts re; Bernie because he's confident that Hillary will win and to cover his ass after I exposed him as a Clinton supporter early on. He wasn't nearly as complimentary of Sanders early on; calling Sanders unrealistic and radical. You can see SouthofMyAnus doing the same thing. If the polls, or even better, the betting lines, were closer he wouldn't be nearly as even handed (which he isn't to begin with). Not only that, he pretends to be a lefty and harasses conservative values while completely and deliberately ignoring Clinton's lies, and her votes on the war, gay rights, her ties to Wall Street, Pharma, the Military Industrial Complex, TPP etc, etc, etc....
One need but look at how heated and aggressively he argues for Clinton's position on TPP.

Bump for prophecy being fulfilled. lulz.

I can't wait until the primary is over so I never have to read another exchange between JVS and AUR on the topic of Sanders/Clinton.
