I wonder how many people still think Sanders has zero chance after he continues to shatter their expectations of him.

Bernie Sanders notched another polling victory against Hillary Clinton on Tuesday, this one in Iowa, where he now leads the former secretary of state, according to the results of the latest Quinnipiac University poll.

The Vermont senator picked up 49 percent support from likely Democratic caucus-goers, while Clinton earned 44 percent. In last month's Quinnipiac survey, Clinton earned 51 percent, while Sanders came in second with 40 percent. In this poll, former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley took 4 percent, with 3 percent remaining undecided.

Story Continued Below

Sanders, who has made the issue of yawning economic inequality a central plank, holds an 11-point advantage among those reporting an income of $50,000 or less. Among those earning $100,000 or more, meanwhile, Clinton leads Sanders by 13 points. (Sanders also holds a 5-point lead among those with an income between $50,000 and $100,000.)

Just one in five of those likely to caucus on Feb. 1 said they might change their mind about whom they will support, while 78 percent said they have decided. Among Clinton supporters, 84 percent indicated firmness, compared to 73 percent of current Sanders backers.

The Iowa Democratic Caucus is going down to the wire as Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders wins the support of 49 percent of likely Democratic Caucus participants, with 44 percent for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and 4 percent for former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.

This compares to the results of a December 15 survey by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University showing Clinton at 51 percent, with 40 percent for Sanders.

Today, 3 percent are undecided and only 20 percent of those who name a candidate say they might change their mind.

There is a yawning gender gap as men back Sanders 61 - 30 percent, with 6 percent for O'Malley, while women back Clinton 55 - 39 percent, with 3 percent for O'Malley.

Sanders also has a big lead on favorability as likely Democratic Caucus participants give him an 87 - 3 percent favorability rating, compared to Clinton's 74 - 21 percent score.

This election is going to turn our political system on its head I'm telling you...

HAHAHAHAHA At 1:50:36 when asked about how she is like your "abuela" you can hear people shouting in the background NOT MY ABUELA!!!

Some of y'all don't want to believe me but even among a lot of liberal Democrats, there is a high level of distaste towards Hillary Clinton and her incessant pandering.

I'm surprised they brought the question up despite the bad publicity it got.

At best then, he was a Rino.

Switched parties in NY, but not policies. There's not much difference between the parties in NY anyway.

That's why I said "technically" in the original post.

MoveOn endorses Bernie Sanders
Bernie Sanders on Tuesday scored the endorsement of MoveOn, the liberal advocacy organization announced in a statement.

The Vermont senator prevailed in online balloting that ran from last Thursday through Sunday night, winning 78.6 percent of the vote out of 340,665 ballots cast — both records in terms of most votes cast and largest margin of victory. Just 14.6 percent voted for Hillary Clinton, and former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley earned 0.9 percent, with 5.9 percent of ballots in favor of not endorsing a particular candidate this time.

Clinton Wants Higher Estate Tax, Closed Hedge-Fund 'Loopholes'
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton today called for increasing the estate tax and closing tax “loopholes” used by hedge funds and the wealthy, as her campaign touts ways she’d tax the rich.

Clinton wants to reduce the threshold at which estates are subject to tax -- to $3.5 million for individuals or $7 million for married couples, down from $5.45 million and $10.9 million currently, according to a campaign news release. She’d also raise the estate-tax rate to 45 percent, from the current 40 percent. The changes would be a return to the way the tax operated in 2009. President Barack Obama and other Democrats have proposed similar adjustments.

I find it weird that she is coming out with all these plans to look like she's sanders, right when she is losing Iowa and New Hampshire to him.

Weird? She's such a phony people have noticed her trying to co-opt Bernie's platform from the get.

Hillary Expected to Adopt All of Sanders’s Positions by Noon (satire, but spot on)

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is on pace to adopt rival Bernie Sanders’s positions on all major issues by noon on Thursday, Clinton campaign officials have confirmed.

Within minutes of Sanders’s entry into the Democratic race, Clinton released position papers on trade, income inequality, national defense, and the environment that meticulously aped the Vermont senator’s views on those matters.

Awaking at 8 A.M., Sanders, who had planned to run to the left of Clinton in 2016, discovered that, while he was sleeping, she had already begun running slightly to the left of him.

In an online video posted Thursday morning, Clinton welcomed Sanders to the race, adding, “To those who agree with Bernie Sanders on the issues, let me say this: I am Bernie Sanders.”

Sanders, who had scheduled a speech in Vermont for 11 A.M. on Thursday, cancelled it abruptly, saying, “Hillary already said everything I was going to say an hour ago.”

The Vermont politician told reporters that now he was unsure whether he would even continue with his campaign. “I don’t know anymore,” he said, visibly shaken. “I just don’t know.”

She's a corporatist and an opportunist. She craves power and will do or say whatever she has to do to win.
Its laughable that Hack V. Savage-Wasserman-Shultz tried to play off her panicked rhetoric as testament to her being... don't drink anything when before you read the last word of this sentence I don't want you to spit it out of your nose onto your computer... antiestablishment. (LMAO!)

I like how you don't even pretend to be able to respond on substance. 100% namecalling. Basically, your view boils down to "I don't like Jack pointing out facts that refute my position therefore he's a poopyhead and I'm right." :)

Look Hack V. Savage-Wasserman-Shultz, you tried to pretend that Hillary's rhetoric on the stump validates her antiestablishment cred (obviously forgetting about her votes FOR WAR and AGAINST GAY MARRIAGE, etc, etc). Its right here in this thread. If you expect to be treated seriously after that I should warn you, you won't be.

Look Hack V. Savage-Wasserman-Shultz,

There you go again. So pathetic to think that it's actually a grown man typing that. :)

I'm "pretending" that her platform is her platform. Since it doesn't conform to your misrepresentation of it, you get mad, but that doesn't actually change the facts.

Early in 2015 I made the prediction that Hillary wouldn't get the nomination. She's distrusted by too many, has too much baggage, everyone's opinions of her are set, and this FBI investigation with possible charges being pressed would loom over her campaign.

After the first Democrat debate, I was started to regret my decision. The four other candidates were nonthreatening, and Sanders threw away his biggest weapon against her, the email scandal. The press was extremely positive toward her, and acting like she was a shoe-in for the nomination.

But, as time has gone by, it seems my initial prediction seems like it was spot-on. Sanders is gaining momentum in every poll, including Iowa, and he has 50% in NH.

It's going to be as fun watching her campaign crumble as it was Bush's.

Want Bernie to win, Hillary probably gonna be nominated.

Want Bernie to win, Hillary probably gonna be nominated.

Whatever your position either way, it's good to see that at least some people can acknowledge that there is a difference between what you think is true and what you want to be true. The inability to do that seems to be the biggest intellectual failing here.
