Deadspin: Whatever Happened To The UFC?

Is the Full House theme song playing in anyone else's head right now

There is a huge thread already on going with hundreds of posts already...

This isn't a case where two people post within a similar time frame, just laziness.

Whatever happened to Vanilla coke and green ketchup

Whatever happened to midgets? I havent seen one in months.

Yeah they can go back to calling things "The War of 04", "Super Saturday", and "Unfinished Business".

Instead of UFC Johnson vs Bagautinov it should have Been UFC 174 "Hyper Drive!"....

I wish they would go back to that trend. It makes the events seem more important. The fighters names are still used to advertise it, so I don't think it's fair that you imply they don't do that.

but you still don't have to watch the press conference. you could watch the ufc forever and never look at fighter pay and rarely ever see dana. its only a focus to the viewer if he chooses to partake.

I'll give you that. I only bitch about what Dana does when I see it on the Sherdog forums. I get as close to zero Dana info firsthand as I can arrange.

Same thing with Sonnen really. If an article says "Guess what Chael Sonnen said today", I'll look for something else.

doesn't dana have tens of thousands react to his tweets? is there an active fighter who registers even a decent fraction of that?

I came here to be that guy on purpose. Just to be a dick really. Don't feel bad, you're better than me.

We're all equals on the dog. Except for mods, admins, profighters, green names and guys that have been on here since it's inception....but other than that we are all on equal footing.

Whatever happened to peace, love and understanding?

Whatever happened to Gary Cooper? The strong, silent type.

It has to be more shows with fighters being more active. They are doing the right things with Lawler and Ben Henderson with quick turnaround times. Non Champions should be fighting 4 times a year easy. Prospects should shoot for 6 fights a year.

That would be a good start. How does the math pan out on this? How many events do they have to hold for this to be feasible given the roster size?

What ever happened to the Stretch Armstrong doll??? That was cool.

I guess I'm a strange guy.
I feel the same way about movies and think it's not right to judge a new release by box office receipts from opening weekend.

You are correct.
I was just saying how I feel.
I don't care about weigh-ins either.

That's because you already know that 99% are going to be shit anyways!

here u go

Didn't quite a few stars come from the Spike Era? Maybe not mega-stars, but decent names?
