It really pissed me off about the 2nd movie, did not enjoy that part of the movie.

It really pissed me off about the 2nd movie, did not enjoy that part of the movie.

It’s perfectly okay if you didn’t enjoy the movie, but keep in mind that breaking the fourth wall is a key part of what makes Deadpool unique.

This isn’t just a Ryan Reynolds thing... it’s a fundamental aspect of Deadpool’s character.

Disliking the film because of this trait misses the essence of Deadpool and his lore.

In the comics as far back as his first appearance in a comic book (The New Mutants #98) in 1991 Wade Wilson/Deadpool was known for his meta-awareness, often acknowledging that he’s a comic book character and interacting directly with readers.

This self-referential style allows him to comment on the comic book industry, make jokes about his own fictional status, and engage with the audience.

It’s a defining feature that sets Deadpool apart from other characters and adds a distinctive, twist to his stories.

Deadpool isn’t for everyone, but it’s not just something that was added for the movie.

It’s a quintessential part of staying true to the character’s lore.

I went with my wife and we laughed throughout the whole movie. It was an amazing experience.

The storyline is just an excuse to for everything else that is awesome . If I wasn't cheap, I'd spend money to watch it in theaters again.

Old friend of mine is moving away to Cleveland. Blecch! Anyway, for our last send-off hang, he dragged me to a comic book movie today. I wasn't expecting much, I'm a snob.

I Fucking Loved it! I was laughing almost from the jump, something most modern comedies don't even do for me these days. Coincidentally, I haven't been to a comic book movie in the theater since LOGAN. So this was an oddly perfect follow-up.

The two leads obviously exude mountains of charisma each, multiplied off the charts by their chemistry together. As for the director & the film as a whole: the meta handling of the importanceocity of the lore, & the movie itself as being a cultural event, was handled with just the right balanced amount of gravitas, and tongue in ass-cheek humor. Some of the cameos I won't spoil were excellent side dishes. And the hilarious post-credits scene was a nice little dessert.

Again I'm usually a snob about this shit, but I had a great time. Well done! 'Nuff said

I thought it was great. Jackedmans best turn as Wolverine if you ask me. Now something like The Winter Soldier is way better, but compared to the garbage they have been delivering its a big step in the right direction. Also genuinely surprised and elated at some cameos. I verbally gasped no way at one character, you can all guess at which.

Voted a 5. Not terrible, but not exactly something I'd be in a rush to ever see again.

Spoiler: Some more detail

The Deadpool and Wolverine fights did nothing for me.. as in I wish I had a remote with a fast forward button. We knew there'd be no stakes and neither would actually get hurt due to their healing factors.

Also, the sacrifice to save Deadpool and/or his world thing had already been done. There was no need to go down that road again. I suppose I'm the type that would prefer a story with more substance and less music videos.

Channing Tatum as Gambit was cool as hell and IMO the best part of the movie.

Yeah, Marvel spoiled the appearance of one character in the final trailer so that the actor can attend the movie premiere because that actor really wanted to attend the premiere in New York City.
