DDP scores fighters

I had asked him if he could please give his scores from 1-10 to each fighter and he gave it as such:

Jon Jones : 10
Him (DDP) : 10
Alex Pereira : 9.5
Tom Aspinall : 10
Chimaev : 10
Jiri Prochazka : 8.5
Ankalaev : 8

Thoughts?

I rate DDP's evaluations as an 8.5, give or take 0.5

Not bad scores but he should bump everyone 0.5 down because none of them are at the level of Jones.

And Ank should be better, or at least equal, to Jiri.

Alex is a too high at 9.5, you can't be a fighter with that level of grappling and be a 9.5

He's a 7.5 and would be a 2 if it weren't for his 10 striking.

If you want to be close to a 10 you need to completely dominate.

Alex dominated Jiri twice though. And was the closest fighter to beat Ank. Let's wait the rematch because Alex has the best TDD in the current LHW. Ank tried 12 TDs and didn't get one against an injured Alex. Alex Pereira's grappling is evolving very quickly. To the point he's getting more and more confident in striking without thinking about wrestling too much. I guess the mystique and the unknown of Ank's wrestling kinda made him too hesitant. Now that he has tested the waters and knows that even when not fresh he could stop any TDD and stop even effective grappling outside of area control, he'd be more relaxed in simply striking. Just like he was more stiff in the first fight vs Jiri, but then was more relaxed in the second as he had proven Jiri's TD level and knew he shouldn't worry too much about that.

I see Alex reverting it and getting a 3-2 this time... Or winning in anyway, but let's say decision because that's the best I can have an opinion, trying to predict R3 KO is meaningless. Given that, Alex would have (if he can do it) defeated all current top LHW contenders, having defeated 2 former MW champions as well, one who was 23-1 in the UFC (Izzy)... That with 14 MMA fight is huge.

If he beats Ankalaev in the rematch, I've no reason to think he isn't one of the best and can not beat Tom Aspinall or anyone in the roster...

Nowadays no, definitely. But I'm assuming DDP is giving an overall score, based on what each was/is at their best.

Haha I had done one for DDP vs Chimaev. That's the only recent fight, right? I have DDP winning 4-1 ... Ofc it can end in round 1 Khamzat, or a late TKO by DDP. The scenarios I more likely are round 1 or 2 Khamzat Chimaev by submission or late rounds DDP by TKO / DDP by decision. I think Khamzat's round 1 submissions has a bigger chance than DDP by TKO, but in an overall, when I gather all probabilities of a win, the later TKO for DDP + decision win triumphs the earlier risk by Khamzat. So I prefer to analyse fights giving my opinion always as a round by round system rather than a "oh 2nd round KO", "first round flying knee!!" ... No one has a crystal ball. So I always end up liking to express in terms of a five rounds fight. In which case, I see it (as per my fun description thread) as a 4-1 UD win for DDP or a 3-2. Anyways, I think Dricus has got this one and I think he will take Chimaev's 0. Both are undefeated in the UFC, but I see DDP as more complete in the sense of endurance, unpredictability, cardio... While Chimaev will have a more predictable game plan vs an opponent who's a big middleweight, which he hasn't faced yet. While Chimaev is also big, he's more fit in for MW imo, DDP is LHW size + he doesn't seem to be with his toughness, mobility or cardio compromised while cutting this much weight somehow...
