Rumored DDP injured, fight with Chimaev off

jon jones not injured... Fight with Tom is somehow off
I mean, we don't know what's happening. Tom knows who and when he will fight. He said he got all the info on the date and everything last time he met the UFC brass. He said he is not revealing it though, that he will reveal later. But he is already scheduled. He said so. He just didn't reveal it. Likely vs Jon Jones or Poatan. But he said he already knows when and he knows who he will fight, but wants to keep it a secret, but he said — that's massive news and I couldn't be happier!

Still tho, idk what's going up with him. When he defeated Blaydes, he talked about the fact that when he met JJ, JJ was fat and it seemed like JJ wasn't even in a gym ever... Saying JJ is more like a social media guy than a fighter. Ironically, ever since the Stipe fight, JJ basically disappeared from media stuff and we don't know what's up, it's said by Gordon Ryan though that JJ has been training and pushing himself a lot, and he has been enjoying the grind like never. Meanwhile, Tom posts videos on YouTube every now and then, appears on the media a lot, goes to podcasts... And based on his most recent short videos, idk, but he seems to be going through anxiety issues. He seems to be shaking, and off in a way. Like, he seems legit worried. And he posts like "Tom reacts to old posts from him" and says "oh I remember that time, that was when... Damn, good moment of my life. I miss all those times." with a worried and nostalgic face. I don't know why, but it's like he is having a crash out, and is just pretty worried, acting like he has gone as far as he could...

LOL...OK buddy! Give it a rest. Your beloved Poatan is not a champion anymore so I don't even know if Dricus vs Poatan would ever happen considering Poatan is 38 already. Take a chill pill.

p.s. Rountree is 6'0", just like Jarzinho is 6'4". You will believe anything that suits your confirmation bias. Look at the pictures. He looked tiny next to Poatan in the ring. There is easily a 5 - 6 inches gap between Poatan and Rountree. If he is 6'0" then I am 6'0" as well since that is how I look up to 6'4" guys, the way he had to crane his neck. He lies about his height. It is not about what it says on paper. it is about how the person stacks up in real life, that matters. The guy was knocked out by Johnny Walker and you are comparing him to an undefeated champion who has never lost in UFC.

Look at the stance he was buddy. He is with his knees almost like in a boxer stance. Nice angle you conveniently took to screen shot. Try again when both are totally upright.

Yeah, he was KO'd by Johnny Walker and then improved. Like, a fighter won't be always at the same level, you know? Look at the streak he was before fighting Poatan. Even Ankalaev acknowledged Khalil's skills, saying that to him, he was a harder fight in the category than Jiri Prochazka and Hill would be... He improved. Got better. It's simple.

So is Poatan. His knees are bent as well. It is not 100% scientific, but the gap in my picture looks bigger than 6 - 7 inches. That is why I am saying it is more like 5 to 6 inches. Watch the whole fight. He looks tiny. If you believe, he is 6'0" then I am 6'0" as well. He lies about his height. I could post any angle, but you will never be convinced.

p.s. No matter what your excuses are, Dricus never lost to anyone in UFC and won 50% of his fights via submission. Once he does lose then you will have an argument to compare against someone who has lost several times in the past and also never had a single submission in his entire career.

Here are both side by side. Goddard is significantly shorter than Poatan with no shoes on. Goddard looks no more than 6'1" - 6'2" with shoes on and Khalil is significantly shorter than Goddard

Besides, after that Khalil vs Poatan fight, many fighters tweeted:

DDP : Both of you guys are legit warriors. That was an incredible fight! The leg kicks payed off at the end. Incredible fight!

Jiri Prochazka: Very good initial action by Khalil. Then, patience from Alex, like always, and non stop action. That was a beautiful hunting. Alright, back to training, time to improve!

Ankalaev : I would like to congratulate both fighters, that was incredible. I'm glad that vodoo man (Alex Poatan) won, now it's my time to beat Rakic and then defeat Alex!

Chimaev : What a fight... Alex, I have nothing but respect to you, that was incredible. Absolute respect is all I can say, you are a beast!

Idk why so many fighters, even those who would beef with Poatan... Even Khamzat who had called to fight Poatan, and when Poatan accepted, Khamzat said "no, only at 185"... Even Khamzat who generally says fights are big BS like the last Sean vs DDP... Would be all so respectable after watching Poatan vs Khalil. It's because they knew Khalil was as tough as it comes and Alex, as they have said, put up on a fight that nothing can be said besides... "Huge respect" ...

I am the only person in this argument who is speaking facts and backing them up. You believing Rountree is 6'0", is just hilarious. A 6'0" guy does not look that tiny next to a 6'4" guy. Watch the whole fight and see how he looks small next to Poatan entire fight. Look at the picture I posted side by side with Goddard. He is a lot shorter than Goddard with shoes on and Goddard is easily 3 inches shorter than Poatan with no shoes on. I wish I had a video of with Cormier who is no more than taller Cormier.

Yes they do. That's a 4 inches difference buddy. Put DDP and Alex next to each other and you will see how the height difference will be the same. You have brought nothing other than your perception of how a 6'0 guy would look next to a 6'4 when looking at a screen.

As for facts:

DDP

—> walking around weight (out of camp) : ~ 225 lbs — DDP told Mark Bouris in Feb 2025 that he sits around ~ 100kg a few week after a fight, before he starts dieting for camp.

—> during camp : ~ 200 / 210 lbs ... In the same interview, he said that once he starts dieting, he brings the body weight down to 200 ~ 210 lbs before the final weigh cut.

Official weigh-in : 184/185 (weight limit)

Fight night (rehydrated) : ~ 205 lb ... Cage siders observes often note that he re-enters around 205 lb... There's one widely shared thread on Reddit that puts him easily around 205 lb, which was widely discussed after the second Strickland fight (tho at least 205 lb... Some say it could be up to 210 or 215 even...)

Khalil :

Walking around (nowadays) : ~ 210 lb ... Rountree told in the Jaxxon podcast that he doesn't cut much weight and is usually around 210 even before water loss.

In official weigh ins tho, he even missed 1 lb, weighing 206 once.

Fight night : ~ 215 lb ... Analysts estimate that he weigh around 215 lb on fight night, bringing his weight a little up with a good meal and fluids.

So ideally, DDP would be ~ 225 lb in LHW, while Khalil fights ~ 215 according to analysts observations. They aren't that different in weight. Even then, DDP has never faced a Khalil Rountree kind of weight fighter, as he generally has a considerable weight advantage vs his MW opponents. He is a big middle weight, going up 20 lb above in the fight night. Similarly, it's reported Makhachev gets up to ~ 175 lb during fight night on lightweight, while his walk around weight is generally ~ 185 lb.

It's funny though because Makhachev is basically a middleweight type body fighting in lightweight, but he manages to get up to almost 180 lb during fight day. Topuria is another crazy guy on weight cut. It's reported he has a similar natural weight — if not more — than Islam, and he would likely fight in lightweight, in fight night, at ~ 175/180 lb... And he walks around normally ~185 lb... How he'd cut down to 145 is a mystery, likely why he didn't want to defend his title more at featherweight, as he is already BIG for a lightweight....

He was denied entry just going to watch UFC 312
He had a media tour booked and watch party
Sold hella tickets
Then canceled and didn’t offer refunds

Then after that he finally got his UAE visa
All evidence that points that way, but still each point doesn't 100% prove it, guess I'm being pedantic about it. Wish UFC was as straight up as they used to be. I feel like in the Fertitta era they would've point blank said they were having troubles and why.
