I don't think Dricus will be the one holding up this fight long-term. I don't think Dricus is healthy right now. I think he will need 2-3 more months before he can start training camp. I think he might be able to fight in November, but that will be Jon Jones vs Aspinall card.

So I think Dricus will tell the UFC he wants to fight in December, which is almost always in Las Vegas, and Khamzat won't be able to come to the USA because of his visa issues.

So the UFC will end up having to make an event overseas in early 2026 at a venue that will allow Khamzat to compete.

I will trust Dricus that he has already accepted two dates within the coming 4 months.

Seems like Dricus is also excited for the Khamzat matchup, surely they will make it happen as soon as possible.

They should have a replacement for that fight, though, just in case.

If he's talking about the fight being within 4 months, then he's almost certainly wrong. UFC 318 and 319 are filled. He said there are two dates, so that has to be UFC 320 and 321 at the earliest. So the SOONEST he could fight is 4-5 months.

It's possible he said 4 months not realizing that October was 5 months away. But to me when he says "soon", he's talking about the fight announcement, not the actual fight.

The more I read this thread, the more I think DDP just can't count.

As others have said, it's unlikely he fights before September. But the September card is in Mexico. I doubt Khamzat fights there.

October is likely to be Abu Dhabi, which would be most likely for Khamzat to fight at .... but that's 5 months away. So I would put the odds on DDP just failing at counting the months here. If you replace 4 months with 5 months, his statement makes sense.
