I don't think Dana would actually be able to continue performing in his role as promoter if he were made an officer or director of TKO. Those roles have extra levels of rules and scrutiny regarding what they are allowed to say about the company that are not consistent with the way a promoter needs to be able to talk about the company.

The fact that Dana White is a close personal friend to the President of the United States certainly adds an aspect of value to the board that will help the company. The fact that Zuckerberg is a huge UFC fan probably also gave Dana a little bit of a foot in the door as well.
