So he gets totally blindsided, in an area where he's supposed to be able to rely on security to protect him from that, meaning it's totally unexpected, and that demonstrates no TD defense?

It was the TD version of a sucker punch. Idk if he has any TD defense or not but that clip sure as hell isn't evidence.
