Could prime Eddie Wineland have given Ilia problems?

Once again you fail to see the basics…i meant reach with his kicks which were in fact giving Ilia problems

why would that be problematic? check my post history, before the fight i literally said people are focusing too much on Ilia's power and not recognizing that he can wrestle. once he shoots the takedown Max's volume will go down and will give opportunities for Ilia to get in on him. then it happened. he was spamming kicks until the takedown at the end of the round and that completely nullified his kicking game. coupled with the calf kicks compromising his movement, and he became much more stationary and boom, he gets popped by the overhand right that starts the finishing sequence.

besides, why the fuck would you be talking about kicks if you're talking about Eddie Wineland? Eddie is a 1 trick, all he has is a pull counter right hand. he doesn't kick.

i'm not failing to see the basics, you're being purposely vague about what you're talking about because you made a shit thread that everyone is dogging you out in and now you're trying to play "it was all a misunderstanding, you don't get it"

He'd get destroyed I believe. Ilia is the much better MMA boxer with more power, better technique, better combination punching, and better counter punching. He's also seemingly a better grappler and his kicking game has proven more effective than Eddie's.

Eddie doesn't have the range or tools to deal with Ilia, he would overcommit to stop the pressure and get brutalized.

That older version of Josh Emmett that got battered by Ilia, would beat any version of Eddie I can remember. Eddie was a dawg, but he'd get bullied by Ilia. This isn't even a close fight, It's a first round KO or second round KO depending on how much Ilia decided to respect him.

Wow. Yea man not even sure how TS arrived at this hypothetical match. While we’re here, Paulo Thiago would have been a tough match for Belal. And Drew McFedries? Rough night out for Dricus.

He was a big bantamweight…minus weight cut Eddie would be no joke
I have met Eddie, rolled with him once or twice 15 years ago or so. Love him to death but I would not call him a big bantamweight. Big frame, but he did not carry weight or muscle. He was in the right division.
