He invoked it on GM, and hasn't done anything except that regarding the DPA. Toothless bullshit as always from these people.

Care to address what I was actually talking about?

I think you need go read the article you linked again, mate. This is embarrassing for you.
Here is your link that I was responding to: https://khn.org/news/trump-administ...-to-be-first-in-line-on-medical-supplies-ppe/

And this has happened a few times now. Please read shit before you post it, if you want to discuss the links you post.

Despite all the doom and gloom about how awful our response has been, we have a faaaaar lower case fatality rate than Europe. We obviously dropped the ball when compared to countries like South Korea where everyone breaks out a mask as soon as someone in China gets a runny nose, but we are doing better than our transgendered brothers across the Atlantic.

If only he backed up his words with actions. He, along with Bush Jr and yes Trump did next to nothing to prepare for anything remotely like this

Not to mention the rest of the world...

Can't blame any of them, really. How much money do you want to pump into a random, but possible once in a lifetime issue? Not much.

If anything at all comes out of this, I hope its that we learn to stockpile masks. There are cheap as hell. A billion dollars in masks could have saved us trillions. I'll take that investment.

Until a few years pass, that is...

It's easy to be concerned now. In five years from now, with no pandemic in sight, it becomes hard to justify billions of dollars to defend against something that "might" happen.

It's a human fault, really. We're a "here and now" kind of species. If some gigantic earthquake happened, or some Earth destroying asteroid was heading our way, we'd bitch all the same, despite us all being rather apathetic up until that point.

But masks don't go bad. We vaccum seal them and throw in a warehouse. A billion dollar investment. If we can use them South Korea-style to prevent 1 outbreak of this magnitude sometime within the next 1000 years, it will have paid for itself.

Masks definitely go bad, just like diapers. Yes, you can clean them, but only for so long.

The US has stored mass amounts of N95 masks in the Federal Stockpile since 2006. Or we did. It got depleted during Obama's tenure and was never restocked. I'm not blaming Obama. It'd be a crazy level of micro-managing for him to even know what amount of masks we should have in the stockpile. Just some nameless high level gov bureaucrat fucking up on his job.

What's your opinion on the Air Bridge corruption undertaken by the Trump admin?

I provided two reports in post #6944, not far back, about it.

I ask, since nobody on the right wing side in here has tried to address such rampant corruption, like....at all.
That's because we (well I do) like you when you're not being a Political troll and we are simply ignoring you. Why don't you just give it a rest for a while? Nobody needs your brand of divisive bullshit right now. :)

EDIT - Nevermind. Misunderstood your point. LOL. Yes, a stockpile should be created, so that we have an overabundance of masks. They're just cloth.

They do, actually. Thats been a problem here. We've had tons of masks that have begun to dry rot.

I'm talking about stockpiling them. Obviously we need to replinish them if we use them. N95s cost like $0.50 per unit. For a billion dollars we could get 2 billion masks and throw them in a warehouse for a rainy day.
